Bravian Council End of Term Report

Vicerine's Report

When this Council took office at the beginning of this term, we had much work to accomplish and set goals for what needed to be done for the betterment of Bravia and her people. Although not all goals have been met, I am proud to report that we have managed to meet a number of those goals.

Active Council: This council has been very active, doing their jobs and filling in for each other when needed. I have been privileged to serve with this honorable group of folks whose common goal has been to serve Bravia and improve her defenses and living conditions for her people.

Castle guard: We raised the wage for castle guard from 19f to 25f and passed into law a minimum wage of 25f for the castle guard. This will hopefully insure that these jobs are taken every day and we encourage all citizens to take their turn at defending our castle.

Armies: We have two standing armies, one in Paz and one in Bravia City. We have armor and stat food produced to supply at reduced rates to any Bravian citizen who chooses to join either army and serve to protect our towns and borders.

University: The University is offering classes aimed at helping our citizens reach their leveling goals and to break through stat caps. We would like to see more citizens participating in the classes as the knowledge yield from classes is greater than from reading books. If anyone needs a specific class, they just need to contact our illustrious Rector, Ambrosia. We pay our teachers whether anyone takes the class or not, so signing up for classes not only speeds your own study progress, it better utilizes our University resources.

Castle: The castle that was destroyed by the dragon, Balerion, has been restored to level II and is well on the way to level III. Our ultimate goal is to restore it to level V which is the highest level and where it stood before Balerion destroyed it. The cost of repairing the castle has been enormous in terms of both materials and labor, but we have been able to accomplish much through the efforts of many of Bravia’s fine citizens. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in this project.

Council Security: In the wake of Balerion’s Madness, we were made aware of the insecure status of the Council Chambers and enlisted the mages assistance in securing them from public scrutiny. The concept of having our chambers and discussions open to the public was, in theory, intended for the Council to be transparent to our own people. In practice, however, we were advertising all of our strengths and weaknesses to the public at large, including those both within and outside our borders who desired to cause us harm.

Wood Supply: Bravia was already suffering a shortage of wood availability even before Scarlet flipped Cork from Bravia to Kiene during Balerion’s Madness. While Cork is still accessible to Bravian citizens, it is no longer part of Bravia so most of our wood gathering is now being done in Staunchville. Staunchville is a peasant town located one day’s travel from Bravia City to the north and its forest has some of the best wood around. If you are interested in joining a group to spend time in the forest there, contact your mayor or the Finance Minister and he or she will insure that you are equipped with what you need to make the most of your time and efforts.

Cork: Talks are underway concerning Cork and Bravia’s relationship. More than that I cannot elaborate, but I do want Bravian citizens to know that we have not forgotten and the door to that chapter of our history has not been closed.

Citizen Grants: We have been able to provide assistance grants to citizens to help with the process of moving to Bravia, purchasing new fields, opening or switching workshops and leveling up. This is open to all Bravian citizens whether newly arrived or with established residence in our province.

Workshop Levels: We have been engaging many citizens whose workshops are operational to supply products needed. This not only keeps Bravia supplied with products and stat food, it keeps the workshops working and progressing toward higher levels which in turn increases productivity and decreasing time needed for production. This benefits everyone from the craftsman to the town and province.

Laws of Bravia: The Official Laws of the Viceroyalty of Bravia have been amended for the first time in over two years. The updated document can be found posted in the Viceregal Inn of Bravia.

In summary, we still have much to accomplish but we are well on our way to restoring Bravia to health, strength and prosperity. I would like to personally encourage all citizens to be actively engaged with their town and province. This is our home. Let us work together to make Bravia great!

People's Representative Report

There were two goals set for the People's Representative for this term in Council.

Keeping the Citizens Informed: The People's Representative, Sebastian, has done his best to share vital information to the public. An attempt was made to share university schedules to Bravians in advance, but both Sebastian and the Rector, Ambra, were stricken by illnesses and other affairs that made communication tough. As time goes on more university schedules will be published in advance to help students manage their days.

An end of term report has also been prepared by the People's Representative in an effort to keep the people of Bravia informed.

Active Viceroyalty: The People's Representative has been planning a celebration to increase activity and give everybody something to enjoy! It's still in the early stages of planning and a few ideas are being tossed around, but an announcement with more details should be made by the end of next Council Term.

People's Representative,
Sebastian Q.

Internal Affairs Minister's Report

We have cut back on the number of animals that we are breeding, to better align with demand and also save on fodder. We have 10 chickens,
10 cows and 8 sheep available for sale at the moment (going down to 4 sheep once we have sold 4).

Corruption is holding steady at around 0-5%.

And the Clerical Staff Happiness is 100%

During this term, we have sold 203 animals (64 cows, 135 chickens and 4 sheep sold during the period of 27/03 to 24/05.

Willow Braeden
Internal Affairs Minister

Financial Minister's Report

We have been able to fund the upgrades to the castle and have began work on the next phases of funding....We have split up the excess of into several different grants so that if something unexpected happens we will not be back at square one.

We have funded several lumberjacks and are currently working on getting better field numbers and workshop numbers so that we can become a stronger Bravia.

John Johnstone
Financial Minister

Judge's Report

The case against balerion was completed as he pleaded guilty. It is currently under appeal in the Mages' Court. This was the only case brought to trial by the public prosecutors during this term.

Prosecutor's Report

Nothing special to report from the Prosecutor's office, no law breaching related incidents this term, and that is good for Bravia. I can only hope that the situation will remain stable in the future.

Regards
WOLF.
