A Hunting Accident

Post by Jasper »

A snarl escaped Jaspers throat as he lashed at the wolf before him. He'd been hunting like every other day when the other wolf sought to challenge him. The other wolf had already managed to wound his side and he knew that if he didn't finish this he'd loose too much blood. Jasper rose to his full height and growled as power radiated off of him. The two wolves stared at each other for several minutes and then the opposing wolf ran away. Jasper quickly reverted to his human form and panted heavily as he leaned against a tree. He slid down to the ground and held his side as pain radiated through him.

Marissa was out doing her morning walk in the forest like she always does everyday. She smelled blood and heard some commotion up ahead.

She ran and followed the scent. She saw a man sitting beside a tree and he looked in quite some pain. She rushed over to him and knelt down in front of him. "Hello there, you seem to be in some kind of trouble. If you let me I can heal that wound of yours." She smiled at him and waited for his consent.

Jasper closed his eyes and nodded as he moved his hand from his side "That would be much appreciated...If I return home like this my mother will never let me go out hunting alone again". Jasper chuckled and winced as pain shot through his side. He leaned his head back and inhaled deeply as he fought to keep his inner wolf at bay.

She smiled and put her hand upon the bleeding wound. Her hand glowed a florescent yellow and closed her eyes to focus on the wound. She pressed her hand deeper on the wound and in a matter of moments it was if there was no wound at all.

She removed her hand and looked into his beautiful eyes
, "There you go, you are healed. You really shouldn't be out here all by yourself. These woods are dangerous."

She smiled and reached out her hand, "My name is Marissa Rose and yours is?

Jasper chuckled as he rose to his feet "Oh I grew up in these woods...Normally I come out unscathed but I was caught unawares this time...You should have seen the other one...My name is Jasper". He raked his eyes across her beautiful form and saw that she had pointed ears. "You're an elf aren't you"he questioned as he wiped his hand on his pants.

Well you caught me on my morning walk. I don't normally find strangers in my travels. I'm glad I was able to help in your time of need. No sense in worrying your mother now is it. She chuckled when he mentioned her ears, " Yes I am an elf. I've been training for some years in the healing arts. My mother is a great teacher."

Would you like to escort me home? My village is a walk's away and would love the company. I've never encountered anyone for some time. My mother has me well protected in the village but I convinced her I can take care of myself. If I encounter danger I just blind them with my psyonic blast. My father taught me the dark arts. My mother is light aligned and father is dark alighted so there's nothing that can bother me in these woods.

My senses tell me you are a Lycan, am I correct? I'm sorry I'm being a chatter box to a stranger.

She felt embarrassed suddenly and blushed.

Jasper chuckled and shook his head as he looked at her. He was about to respond when he suddenly sensed another presence. He looked up and saw the wolf from before standing a few yards away. Jasper could tell by the stance of the wolf that it was looking for another fight and intended to attack Marissa. A feral snarl escaped his lips and his eyes burned slightly as they changed from their ocean blue to golden yellow. He took a running leap and landed on four legs as a snow white wolf. Jasper charged at the wolf and knocked it over before pinning it to the ground. Another snarl escaped his throat and he pressed one of his large paws against the wolfs throat.

Marissa felt the wolf appear from the distance. She felt she was the target of the wolf and drew out her sword from her back. She was a healer in which her mother had taught her. She wanted her to experience the light side of life since she was half of a light elf. Her father taught her the art of weaponry. He taught her defensive and offensive fighting. He trained her well so she would understand her dark side since he was a dark elf.

She noticed Jasper change so she stepped back and watched her acquaintance react with the wolf. She still stood defensively.

Jasper pressed his paw against the other wolf's throat and snarled as the muscles in his shoulders twitched. After several long minutes the other wolf scratched at the ground in submission knowing that it had been bested. Jasper slowly stepped away from the wolf and kept his golden eyes trained on it as he backed away towards Marissa. He made sure to keep himself between her and the wolf in case he decided to attack her. The wolf then rose to his feet and ran off once again. After making sure that the danger had passed Jasper reverted back to his human form and turned towards Marissa. "Sorry about that...I've been having trouble out of that one all day"

Marissa smiled as she watched Jasper and was impressed. She put her sword back in its sheath.

As she watched him change back to his human form, she smiled once again. "That was quite impressive."
