orp A New Life

Post by Sharra_tianna »

She awakened to a new day, the sun was shining and she had put all the sadness behind her.
This was the start of a new life. She went to the lake and met up with Timber and Ringo who escorted her to the lodge, where the rest of the pack was waiting for her. They all made a great fuss of her and informed her they had missed her while she had been in retreat. All the little ones were now grown and some of the older wolves had gone off to set up on their own.

She returned to the lodge and decided to clean and tidy it up. There was quite a bit of dust that had gathered. She soon had the place back clean and sparkling again. Then she used her magic to clear it of all the memories of her previous life there. Now she would start her new life here. Although she would have to clear the memories from her home in the human realm, she could stay here when she wished without pain.

She then went down to the lake to give Buglord and his lady the geese she had brought, but not finding them she left them where he would be able to collect them on his return.

The elf like man had been wandering various parts of Bravia in search of general exploration and to satisfy his curiosity of the unfamiliar lands. He had begun with his own town of Paz, but having become more accustomed to the places and goings on he opted to set his sights on newer areas. The capital of the main Bravian region was none other than, you guessed it, Bravia City. This should prove quite interesting as it would be by far the largest and busiest of the three populated centers. He was not one to rush either, so he'd take his time making it to the Bravia proper and instead would wander the outskirts and countrysides, just as he had done with the regions surrounding Paz.

It was during this jaunt that he saw it; a lodge in the distance. It was a well constructed and beautiful building. Something such as this would likely not be left unguarded; even if abandoned by its owner other things would have taken it over. So he moved forward with caution, keeping his senses piqued for the slightest hint of danger.

Suddenly Timber ran through the glade with Ringo not far behind him. They slowed down and melted into the trees and stalked slowly forward. There was a stranger approaching and under no circumstances would they allow anyone to cause harm to their beloved leader.
As they slowly crept forward, their stance ready for defence, they realised this being did not pose a threat, so allowed the fur to settle. They slowly paced in line with the being still keeping wary watch.
Meanwhile, Sharra suddenly turned around from what she was doing and looked in the direction of the newcomer. She let her senses reach out to him and checked him out, but sensed no danger. The pack closed in about her protectively and sat, waiting.
She wondered who this being was and why he had come to her lodge. If he was a lost traveller then the wolves would take him wherever he wished to go. It was doubtful he was a visitor as she had never seen him before, so she waited till he got nearer then called out to him.
"Who art thou? Hast thee lost thy way?"

He was being watched and tracked, he could feel that much. His posture eased a bit as he knew he was the intruder and the guards, whatever they were as they remained concealed, had they intended him harm would have done so already. Seeing the form of a woman Vandor determined she would be the one in charge and this thought was reinforced when she addressed him.

Pausing he looked took in her image and noticed as well the wolves that were around her as a living barrier. Tilting slightly at the waist and extending his arm to the side, flourishing his traveling cloak, he responded. "Well met. I am Vandor, hailing from the city of Paz. I am not lost, but am on a journey of exploration. I just so happened to come by this place of yours."

She allowed her senses to probe the odd-looking person. It appeared to be male and harmless so she withdrew her senses.
" If you are without harmful intentions, you are welcome, but I must warn you my wolves can sense any harmful intentions as well as I. At the moment they would act without thought. I am their leader and am near my time of birthing so you may understand their care."
She looked at the male but he seemed to be unconcerned with no thoughts of harmful intentions.
"If so be you are just looking around to discover your surroundings then you are welcome. I can offer you refreshment if you so wish."
It was good to be able to talk to another being. She went into the lodge and prepared a tray with refreshments for him and took it onto the verandah. The wolves had calmed and lay on the ground just nonchalently watching him. Timber and Ringo had yet to reappear. She knew they would still watch for a while.
She called one of the wolves and gave him two geese and told him to take them to buglord, then watched him lope off with them in his mouth. She knew he would do exactly what he was told.

"Worry not, lady of the wolves," he assured her. "Harm is the last thing I want to bring, save as a last resort. And given your proximity to birthing I must thank your protectors for allowing me to get this close."

He observed at the ease at which she issued commands to the animals as well as to their dutiful responses. "I thank you for your hospitality," he said as she emerged and moved to the veranda. Slowly and calmly he walked over to join her. "A very nice place you have here, and the weather is splendid as well."

" Yes, the sun shines all the time here, even when we have rains it is never far away. Have you travelled far? I have not seen you in the towns. You will find the people are very friendly and helpful there. This is a place apart, so you will rarely see any townsfolk here unless I invite them. This is an alternate plane." she informed him. "My name is Sharra_tianna and this is my wolf pack. She introduced him to the pack and watched as he allowed them to check him out.

She watched him settle himself on the verandah. He appeared comfortable with himself even though her wolves were all around. She wondered how he had crossed to her world and would have to check the barrier. It was rare for anyone to be able to come here without her arranging it.If he turned out to be a trustworthy person she would arrange his free passage to and from her plane. There was much he could find and enjoy in this, her place.

She felt Timber and Ringo emerge from the trees and looked around at them, letting them know everything was alright. They slowly walked towards her watching the stranger as they did so. They would take no chances she knew, but as they got closer she could see them relaxing as they picked up the calmness from the stranger, and from herself also.

"This is Timber the leader of the pack and this is Ringo his second in command." she said as she introduced the stranger to her leaders. The two leaders went over to the stranger and sniffed him and sensed him. They then looked at him and walked over to her chair and sat either side, relaxed but alert as ever.

He nodded, listening, a frown creasing his face. "Interesting. I wonder how I could have crossed... I was not even aware of a barrier. No wonder your wolves were being so careful, it is much more of an intrusion than I had first thought." The smile then returned to his face as the pack came up to investigate him, "Still your hospitality in this matter is unmatched, and I thank you for it." Laughing lightly he patted the animals before they moved away.

The silvery haired man then knelt and tilted his head in respect at the next two wolves, "I am honored, revered pack leaders."

Sitting down, allowing comfort to overtake him, he asked her, "An alternate plane you say? Is this something you created for yourself, or had you found it and adopted it as your own? Feel free not to answer if it is too personal, I'd understand."

Sharra smiled at Vandor and told him," This place was brought into play by my late husband. It has always been around but he showed me the way in and since his death I usually stay here."
"If you wish I will take you to a very beautiful place that you may like very much. It has good memories for me there and I hope there will be many more in the future. I will give you leave to go there and create your own if you would like to after you see it."
She arose and spoke in silence to her pack who also arose, looking at her expectantly.
"Come, I will take you there now and it will be good for me to walk there." she said to Vandor.

"I see," he said as she explained. "What a wondrous gift from him, though I am saddened to hear of his passing. I would like to see it very much, and thank you for your offer." He wondered what such a place may be, an entire small world apart from the main. Silently he moved to follow her to the eventual destination.
