A Lycan's Refuge

Post by Mikel »

Mikel sighed and ran his fingers through his hair as he leaned against the wall of the cave he called home. It had been nearly a month since his brother ran off and he hadn't heard from him since. He guessed his brother had decided to strike out on his own since he didn't like being near the townspeople. He sniffed the air knowing that it would rain soon and that he'd have to get his hunting done before hand. Mikel jumped from his cave and landed perfectly on his feet. He transformed into his wolf form and began running as fast as he could. He soon caught the scent of a panther and trailed after it. Mikel soon caught up to his prey and launched himself at it. He knocked the panther to the ground and sank his canines into the animals jugular. The panther's blood filled his mouth and he began tearing at the flesh. When he finished his meal he walked over to the nearest watering hole and began to drink. Once he was done drinking he ran back to the cave he called home. He leapt up into the cave and transformed into his human self. Mikel walked over to his chest of clothes and pulled out a fresh set of clothes. He changed his clothes and ran his fingers through his hair as he walked back over to the mouth of the gave. He was in the mood for some whiskey so he decided to go to the tavern in Cork. Mikel leapted back down to the ground and began running through the trees until he reached it destination. He pulled the tavern door open and stepped inside. The next thing he knew he could smell the prescence of another lycan. He looked over and saw this beautiful blond haired lycan across the room talking with an elf.

Missy was sitting at a table speaking to her elf teacher, and guardian. She had been away hunting over the past few months and was happy to be back home. However, she would not be home for long, and when she would return she did not know. But for the meantime she was going to enjoy her stay at home. As she was talking with Tara about all her travels, a new lycan walked in. Her eyes darted over to the door, and her eyes caught his. It couldn't be. This couldn't happen to her. Quickly she turned her eyes from the stranger and looked at Tara. She ordered another whiskey and ordered her friend a mint tea. Soon her friend would be leaving, and Missy would be left to her whiskey and papers.

Mikel looked away from the woman and shook his head as he ordered a whiskey. He felt himself drawn to her but he couldn't figure out why. He stared at the bar top and figured that only time would tell. Mikel downed his whiskey and looked back over at the woman. He saw that she had bluish green eyes and he couldn't help but feel captivated by them. He shook his head again and looked away "What is wrong with me" He thought as he ran his fingers through his hair. He downed his whiskey and closed his eyes.

Missy tried to ignore the feeling that was happening deep inside her. She felt compiled to speak to him, but as she was Roma, she was not allowed to speak to outsiders. She ran her fingers through her long blonde curly hair, and glanced over at the stranger. Her eyes seeming to lock to his for just a few seconds before Tara pulled her from her thoughts. She nodded to her friend and assured her that she would be fine on her own and promised that she would not be much longer. Missy looked down at her papers and pulled out her quill and ink so that she could begin writing down her travels. She liked to keep track of where she had been and what all she had done. It also helped keep her out of trouble if her father ever decided to check in on her. Sure she could easily lie, but her father always knew. It was better for her to just write down the truth rather than try to lie about it.

As she sat there writing she couldn't help but feel as if she was being watched, but when she would look up from her work, no one was watching her. She knew it had to be the stranger, as he seemed to be the only one who was even remotely interested in her. Missy pulled her hair back and tied it with a blue ribbon, so that her hair would be out of her face as she kept on writing.

It wasn't long and the sun had set. Missy was just about done with her writing, and her fingers were covered in black ink. She laid her quill down and leaned back in her chair, pulling her legs up to her chest. She sighed softly and looked out the window. It would be three more nights before the full moon. She would have to go hunting tomorrow night if she wanted to keep from being such a beast on the full moon.

Missy is a full blooded lycan, which means she can change at will, but as she is young the full moon powers her to the point where she has little control over herself. In time she would be able to control herself completely.

"I see the moon and the moon sees me..." She mutters to herself, pulling the ribbon out and running her fingers through her hair, the curls cascading down her shoulders and back.
