[ORP] In search of fun and eggs

Grazilda let Serene out of her butcher shop, locked the door and followed her. They were both wearing matching leg warmers. "Where did you find those robin eggs? How many do you usually find?" She asked her sister.

Grazilda often marveled at Serene's love for adventure. Before, she thought that she was great in finding and making adventures of her own. However, she was wrong. One could always count on Serene to come up with a great activity. Most of them were excellent and good ideas but there were times when some of them caused them a great deal of trouble, to Rieron's dismay. Truth be told, she enjoyed the trouble part. If she would get in trouble, she would gladly get in trouble with Serene, for they had an interesting way to squeeze themselves out of their schemes, or at least they all turned out well, more or less.

"Do you think we can throw rotten eggs at those peasant mobs who don't want to disband?" Grazilda asked, out of frustration. "If rotten eggs won't work, we can always throw daggers at them, right?" She suggested, with full knowledge that she would never do something crazy at least at the moment.

[Serene]

"I found the eggs in a pine tree over that way." Serene answers Grazilda's query pointing. Serene thinks about the question of how many eggs. "This nest had four eggs in it. They are blue! I have found some with two, some with three, but this one had four!"


Throw rotten eggs at them? Daggers?!" Serene looks horrified. Some of the peasants are her friends. She made friends when she was mayor. Well she was only mayor for two weeks or so but she had kept the friends she had made. She delights in giving the peasants sweet corn to see if she can make them so happy they forget what they are doing. Hearing Grazilda's frustration at the peasants not leaving immediately, Serene realizes it is just a miscommunication. Sometimes the peasants were afraid to talk to sorcerers in case they turned them into frogs or something like that. "Oh! I know why sometimes they don't leave! Do you want to know why?" Serene bubbles enthusiastically as she hurries to keep up with Grazilda.

[Serene]

Serene knows that she is the one largely responsible for the peasants thinking that sorcerers turn peasants into frogs. She hopes this won't cause trouble... She has a fascination for frogs precisely because of this thought. She hopes one day to catch a frog and have it suddenly turn back into a peasant as the spell is broken.

Serene stands on tiptoe and whispers in Grazilda's ear, "They won't leave the mob till they have enough food to feed their whole family..."

"Come over this way!" Serene pulls on Grazilda's hand.

[Grazilda]

Grazilda was still fuming over the unyielding peasant mob when she momentarily forgot her angst as Serene pulled her hand. "All right! All right! Maybe we can bribe them with some cash, too. Let's go and find those robin eggs!"

Part of the reason why she wanted to spend so much time with Serene was that she made her forget her worries. Well, most of her problems were trivial but she just wanted to look for more troubles in life.

[Serene]

Serene drags Grazilda's hand as she runs off towards the pine tree. She makes a slight jog in the path to see if the pond might have frogs. She sees the pond is frozen over. She turns back towards the pine trees and gets to the bottom of a tree and points up. "Here!" She says breathing fast to catch her breath.

[Grazilda]

Grazilda followed Serene. As they walked, she wondered if the eggs were only blue or it had a variety of colors. She wondered as well what could give the eggs those colors. Were they magical? Or were they from an unusual sort of species of birds.

She slightly jogged when Serene did. She remembered this pond. They were playing here a few months ago. Perhaps later they can glide on the frozen pond. Serene stopped in front of a pine tree. "That's where it is?" She asked. She looked up and wondered if any egg could hatch and survive in the cold. "Are you sure this is the spot?" She asked again.

[Serene]

"Oh yes! This is where I found them! They were right up there on the third branch on the right in that little nook where the three branches come together." Serene points to the spot. It is quite obvious there is no nest there currently. Serene looks proud that she answered the question of where she found the eggs.

[Serene]

Serene looks around. "The eggs have disappeared! Oh! Look over there by Thisle's old run down house!" Serene starts to run assuming Grizilda will follow. "Look! Look! It isn't blue anymore and it grew! It is a green egg! A green lace egg! Did you ever see something like that before?"
Serene danced about impatiently waiting for Grizilda to look. This was a find of the century! She needed a witnesses! No one would believe she found a green egg with green lace!
"Hurry hurry!"

[Grazilda]

Grazilda was mentally doing an inventory of her shop as she followed Serene at inquired about the declared location of the eggs. Suddenly, her sister was filled with excitement.

"What is it, Serene?" Grazilda asked. "What?! They disappeared?! Do we have egg thieves now?" She even wondered at the worth of such eggs that they would be stolen by someone. She ran to follow Serene and soon found a big lace green egg. "Good mages, what is this? Is this a cursed egg? I haven't seen anything like it before." She went closer to inspect the egg. "What creature could have laid such unusual egg?" She asked as her mind started to imagine the endless possibilities regarding the source of the unusual egg.

[Serene]

"Do you think Thistle might hatch out of it? It is his old run down place... I never met him. Did he like lace?" Serene wonders if this egg might disappear also. "Oh look! I think there is a stash of stuff there right next to the egg! Can I get it?"
