Re: A Hunt
Let the hunt begin! Start from an edge and choose a place to begin on the grid. Players can move from their location to an adjacent tile each turn. After each round the results well be revealed. Role play is encouraged.

Aida arrives at the location on horseback, to dismount and be handed a map. Pulling off her gloves, she gazes down at the grid references and nods her head,"Am I the first to arrive? Let's see, then. We start on the edge and work our way inside, is that the best way to catch the critters? In that case, I woud like to start with number 55." And with that, she remounts her dappled grey and sets off to try and find the perfect starting place.
Re: A Hunt
the wamboozle flittered through the forest in disguise as a hing hoy. flittering along with a soft glow behind. he came to the area (#5) past the lassen forests, landing on a branch and awaiting the begings.
Re: A Hunt
How to get the best pickings in a hunt?
That was always a difficult question. It depended on what you were hunting, the time of day, the season, the recent weather, and your location. Sadly, Alder didn't know Imperious all that well. What he did know was about the technique. Recently, the weather had been really quite sunny, and things had to drink. That meant that being by a body of fresh water was always a fairly safe bet. The only problem was that he couldn't account for local wildlife watering cycles and his own weakness to the substance, making fights fought around a body of water more difficult. Oh well, he could take yvyrms without any real difficulty, even if he was at a disadvantage... he'd just make sure he didn't hold back and properly equip himself, just to be safe.
He took his place at number 6, an area where a body of water bordered the forest.

Re: A Hunt
TK came dressed for the occasion in his hunting gear. He brought his bow for the long range targets, and his lycan for the close range targets. As he surveyed the grounds he settled upon the side nearest the lake at the southwest side and prepared his body for the hunt in hopes of bringing down the largest and most game! ((48))

Aida: You see a flash of movement low to the ground to the north.
Tybalt: You hear something east of you. It might be dangerous.
Alder: You hear something west of you. It might be dangerous.
Texas: You smell something to the west. Something rancid.

Alder's first instinct was to wait in the undergrowth, but that wouldn't get him anywhere. Instead, once he'd verified that there was nothing much around, he started checking for tracks. If things came here, and the ground was wet and soft, then-
*Thud*
Alder froze as the ground shook. Glancing to his left and right, he saw nothing, but then-
*Crack*
Ah hell... well, this was either very good or very bad. For a second, he considered investigating, but then it occurred to him that there might be a reason that he hadn't found any tracks in this area. As much as the idea of big game appealed to him, this was about quantity, lot quality, and as such, he couldn't afford to take risks and get injured at this early stage. Instead, he noted the position of this thing and moved South (15). It probably wasn't going anywhere, and he didn't want to tangle with anything that was an alpha predator at the early stages... that, and it could be something that wasn't even game, like a bog or something else nasty.
Caution overcame curiosity, this time.

Re: A Hunt
Starting near a river was a good idea, she thought. The beasts were known to like water and her planning might actually be paying off as she spotted a flash of movement to the north. Time to head that way then! Pulling out her dagger, a wedding present from Alder, she approached the head of the river ((#42)) and sent up a silent prayer that she would strike fast and true.

TK smells something behind him that stinks for all it's worth and decided to move east to the next sector. ((49))
