[RP/IG]Wood Cutting Contest August 1657!

Aingeal ran a hand through her hair and walked through the Castle Garden to find the Castle Message board. Amara was skipping along behind her as she picked her way down the path. The scroll in her hand had just dried, thankfully no three year old hand prints were to be found. Aingeal narrowly had her work destroyed by a tipped vial of ink, and she had worked carefully on this all afternoon. Whist Amara played in the flowers Aingeal unrolled the parchment and tacked it to the board.

	Wood Chopping Contest!!! Fenia is holding a contest to see who can chop the most wood! The contest will run from Aug 25th, 1657 to Sept 25th, 1657. This will ensure all have time to prepare before the contest starts! For the person that chops the most wood, and encrusted bow with the gem of your choice. Do Rubies find your fancy? Or perhaps Diamonds are your friend! Then for every bushel of wood you sell to the Town, you will get an entry into a drawing for a shield of your choice. Entering is easy. Chop wood all you would like. Sell the bushels as a TH only offer to the Town Hall for 6.25f or less. Then show me the results here. (Copy and Paste is fine. You will need to copy and paste both events that you chopped, and that you sold to the TH.) The Mayor will submit me a log to verify so cheating is not allowed. Aingeal looked over at Amara. Come child, let's go wait for people to sign up, she said, taking her daughters hand. Aingeal went back to her office to await missives that people were interested in the contest.

She read the note hanging up carefully then reread it. She had already planned to help her town so this was a fun way to be slightly competitive. She walked home briefly and when she returned she was carrying a piece of parchment with her name written on it. She quickly fastened this to the notice and hurried away to make certain her axe was sharp.

[Skye]

Walking about wasn’t something Skye usually did but she felt she needed to learn Fenia, not just Imperius. She got a glimpse Mele doing something but before she could get closer Mele was gone. Turning to see what Mele was looking at, she sees a notices.
“A contest, I love contest,” she said out loud. Digging in her pocket for something to write with when it hits her. “Ah…” She hurried back home to sign a parchment with her signature.
Coming back she attached her signature just like Mele had done.

Sign me up…

[Zipporah]

Zipporah was walking around getting to know her way around and saw the notice. She saw Mallory and Skye's names and decided she would sign up as well.

[Amara]

Amara snuck away when her mama wasn't looking and headed out to the castle gardens. Mama was busy with planning, and Amara only wanted to help. She skipped out to the board and clapped her hands with glee when she saw names tacked up to her mama's notice. Stretching up she the bits of parchments were outside of her reach. Looking around she spied a small log and went over, pulling and dragging it, dirtying the hem of her dress. Finally moving the log into place, she climbed up top and gleefully pulled the names from the board. She couldn't quite read yet, but she knew they were names. She knew what mama's name looked like, papa's and her own. Hopefully mama would teach her these. Clutching them in her hand she jumped down from the log, sending up more dirt on her dress. Shrugging she dashed back into the castle, looking for her mother.

After almost running straight into a guard, she found her mother where she left her, in her office reading papers. Mama! Looks what I founded!! she said, proudly displaying her find. They was on the board where you puts your letter! Amara hopped from one foot to the other, glad to be helping.

Akos wanders over and writes a 'A' on the parchment in order to signify her participation in the contest.

(my apologies for missing this area, I will post chopping events here from now on unless otherwise directed)

Wagnard, failing to realize the importance of scripture to enable its participation in the event, finally remembered in its scattered immortal brain to make a mark in the book to symbolize a months work hard labor in the forests. Hopefully to have a gem encrusted weapon in its employ!

Aingeal dutifully added a proper form to symbolize the first round of wood cutting as a courtesy. The second day, however was much the same as the first. The force of its blows was not making much headway...

The simple axe that he bought many months ago just was not working out well. Eyeing the weakened edge it concluded with a sharper edge, not the force of its unrelenting swing, would produce better results. So, with that in mind seeing a blacksmith and a load of holy resins the blade became sharper and lo and behold the effects were mightier!!
