amanda put on the hat for jousting and picked up the special thingy they use for it. she had never jousted in her life and she wasn't sure how it would go. she was shown a horse to use for it. calmly she got on the horse, but she could tell she didn't have the same bond as what her and lightning have. it felt a bit unnatural to be on this horse. amanda put on the helmet and waited for the signal.

"round 1" read a sign. the red rider and their horse galloped towards her. she knew not who it was. it could have been just some peasant or maybe another competiter in the joust. she moved the reigns of her own horse to get them galloping. the horse moved not as smoothly as she was used to and she tried to aim her joust as best she could towards the shield of the red rider. as they got closer together, she heard a loud smack and felt a tug. she looked back to find she had knocked the red rider off. (89%).

a peasant came around and guided her horse and the red rider's back to a starting position. "ready for round 2," a voice from the right asked. not quite being able to see who it was, she nodded in what she thought was the direction. "this can't be that hard," she thought to herself. leaning forward she kicked the sides of the horse slightly to get the horse to go. the horse lifted the front two feet and took off racing towards the red rider. the speed was fast and her hair was flapping. she felt wildly out of control, but tried her best to aim true. in what seemed like a few seconds, she heard another loud smack, but this time it was followed with what felt like a very hard floor meeting her back quickly. she winced in pain when a hand was offered. "countess," said a gentleman as she was helped up. (33%)

"how many rounds of this are there again," she asked. the gentleman smirked at her and said, " a few more..." she moved her neck to make sure it was going. she was a bit rattled and she knew it. "maybe this wasn't a good idea." she tugged the reins and the horse took off again. she was starting to wonder if the horse was amused and enjoying this. the horse probably had many riders and the opportunity to take advantage. the wind rushed by and she felt her joust miss. she was pretty sure what would happen next. "yep," she said coughing. (33%)

lifting herself up, she grumbled softly. she got herself back on the horse. gripping the joust tightly, she kicked the horse sharply. it ran towards the red rider leaning forward. she watched as the distance got smaller and smaller. she heard a large smack and this time, she was on the horse. she raised the joust triumpantly. victory had been achieved for this round. (95%)

she saw a sign that said "round 5". a peasant helped take the horse back to the starting point. "well done, m'lady," the peasant said patting the horse's side. the horse even seemed to feel better. she waited and heard the noise this time to start. she encouraged the horse forward. gliding through the wind, it was a few seconds until the red rider was looking like they were asking about the number of rounds. she smiled even if no one else could see it. (83%)

her horse was trotted back to the starting for round 6. it looked she was getting more used to this. gently she tugged the reins and the horse flew towards the red rider. it was such a beautiful day for this too and she knew it. she gripped the joust close. "for fenia," she said as her joust smacked the red rider to the ground. she was confident and calm now. (92%)

her horse was taken back to the starting point. she wondered what moser was doing today. she thought, "was he out fishing? we had some great fish the other day that he caught." the sound of the next round came and she started off towards the red rider. before she knew it, she heard a smack and she was brought back to reality for a moment. a hand was offered. "are you okay," the peasant asked. she nodded softly. (26%)

she got back on the horse shaking her head. her mind had drifted towards other things. she wasn't in the game and tugged the reins. before she knew it, she was getting familiar with the ground. she grumbled. "how many more rounds," she asked. the peasant put up one finger. (79%)

a bit ruffled, she got onto the horse and mumbled, "let's get this over with". she kicked the side of the horse and she was ready for getting done with the joust. it was fun to her, but she was going to have to get more practice before she did this regularly. otherwise, she would be on the ground yet again. she coughed a little as that's where she ended up.

[OOC I'm NPC so only here for the RP because I think Gardener's post is cool. I don't need any price. Well I do but I won't get them anyway :P]

Yersin had come to Fenia on his horse Buddy after he saw the announcement of the Jousting and how much money he could win! He could ride his horse very well and practised a lot with his wooden sword so this couldn't be very hard.
Several people laughed hard when he tried to sign up. "You're just a child.", said a large man.
"But it says nowhere kids can't join.", Yersin said. He's very proud he can read well enough now to figure that much out.
"Very well.", grunted the man. "You have a horse, you can join if you can lift that lance."
Yersin struggled with the heavy lance, but just managed. The others laughed again and the large man pointed to a skinny teenage boy. "You can joust against my youngest son. None of the others wouldn't instantly kill you."

A moment later they were both on their horse, ready for round 1. The other boy was older and stronger than Yersin, but clearly didn't know his horse so well. Yersin had his horse up to speed much faster. "Come on Buddy!", he yelled, holding his lance as best as possible. He crossed the grounds before the other boy could respond properly and hit him clumsily with the lance, almost dropping it. His opponent didn't expect such an unusual strategy and slid off his horse.
(round 1: 84%)

Yersin struggled to get the heavy lance back into position. Buddy noticed it and, worrying, slowed down. The other boy rode towards them with full speed. Yersin manoeuvred his lance so he blocked his opponent's path instead of trying to hit him with a tip like it should in this game. The other horse jumped out of the way causing its rider to fall off again.
(round 2: 70%)

Yersin grinned wide. "We're good at this Buddy!" Buddy felts his rider's confidence and responded when Yersin rode towards his opponent faster again. The other boy clearly lost a lot of confidence now he lost from a child twice. Besides he seemed to be struggling with the adult size helmet he was wearing. Adjusting it several times while riding, it wasn't hard for Yersin to land a good hit.
(round 3: 89%)

Yersin cheered. His opponent wasn't too quick to get back on his horse. He needed some encouraging words from his father ("Get that butt back on that horse or you ain't my son no more!") before he was ready for round 4.
Yersin repeated his strategy from previous round. He rode towards the other boy fast, who seemed to have lost all motivation. Yersin wasn't sure if he even tried to evade his lance or just tried to get it over with quickly. He seemed to slip off his horse before Yersin even hit him.
(round 4: 82%)

He grinned and adjusted the bucket he used for helmet. This time, he rode towards his opponent with full speed. So fast, he missed him. The other boy had steered his horse away from him as soon as he came closer. Yersin turned Buddy and chased his opponent, chuckling wildly and causing a wondering mutter from the audience. The other boy didn't respond quick enough and nearly jumped off his horse when he felt the tip of Yersin's lance on his backside. His father stamped his foot and cursed encouragements towards his son.
(round 5: 96%)

Round 6, and Yersin rode towards his opponent with full speed again. His opponent barely made his horse move, but seemed more determent to hold his lance exactly right to knock Yersin off his horse.
Yersin yelped when he suddenly made contact with the hard floor and groaned. Buddy came trotting back, worried, and nudged him. Yersin searched for his bucket-helmet that rolled off and placed it back on his head before he stiffly got back on the horse.
(round 6: 33%)

Yersin was grateful for his horse. Buddy ran to their opponent fast, though slower than the last two rounds, without Yersin having to instruct him. He concentrated on holding his heavy lance and managed to knock off the other boy, who was clearly surprised Yersin didn't give up so easily.
(round 7: 83%)

Yersin's determination seemed to make his opponent more determined now. Combined with the increased self confidence of giving at least one hit back. Buddy ran towards the other boy fast again while Yersin concentrated on holding his lance. However, the other boy started to figure out his strategy now and landed a hit before Yersin could. He landed on the floor again face first. He rubbed his nose, then snorted and wiped the blood on his clothes. He tried to ignore the pain and got back on his horse.
(round 8: 80% but lost)

Both Yersin and Buddy tried to give everything for the last round. Unfortunately, it was too hard to keep a lance up while his nose throbbed and bled. He was again too slow and as a consequence met the floor fast.
(round 9: 85% but lost)

Yersin caught his breath, got up stiffly and led Buddy from the grounds after nodding to the other boy. He considered staying around to watch others, but decided it was better to return to Bravia before anyone would wonder what took him so long.
Several people smirked as he left, but he heard someone mutter: "Not bad, kid."
