The night seemingly dragged on. Royce could barely sleep with all that had happened to him recently. He moved back home to Widu, met a very beautiful and Awesome Town Mentor, and finally owned a piece of property about a 40 minute walk outside of town. Once he awoke Royce got busy readying things in his cart to take to his new land. He bought a few loaves of bread and some cured meat to eat and a bottle of wine for later this evening. Royce made certain to stop by the blacksmith to buy a shovel and to get his axe sharpened. Once everything was all set he set out towards what would be his new home.
It wasn't long before the he came to the spot in the road where he had to go through the thicket a ways. As he walked through he made a note to go into and buy a scythe to help him clear this pathway out. Soon he saw the meadow appear before him. There were two large trees just on the edge of the meadow and Royce decided not to cut those down as he had something planned for them. He surveyed his lot and found some really nice sized trees. After marking a few of them with his knife he returned to get his axe. A few mighty swings ans the first tree had fallen. Royce set to work in trimming the branches off and then marked 3 10 foot lengths allowing for the loss of having to cut through them with his axe. Royce noted that he would also need to buy a saw to make this easier.
Finally getting the first of many logs cut for his home and dragged into place Royce looked into the sky and saw that the sun had already started its descent. Royce took some short lengths of rope and the tarp he had and fashioned a crude hammock and then attached it to the two big trees on the edge of his meadow. He tested it out by sitting in it and dangling his feet. It was perfect. Next, he set to work in making a fire, the branches he cut earlier while still kinda green would make for good kindling. He used his shovel to dig a shallow pit and lined it with good sized stones. He piled up some dry tinder and took his flint and knife and scraped at it to cause sparks. Each time the small flames died out Royce wished Bridget was there but, in the end would not take advantage of her gift in that way.
A few burned fingers and a short while later Royce was sitting cross legged next to a nice fire. He munched on a bit of bread and meat and sipped at his wine. He looked over at the beginnings of his house. 'Three logs down, several to go' he thought. As he continued to sip at his wine and eat bread and meat his thought turned to Bridget. He wondered what she was up to and if she was thinking about him as well. Deep inside he knew she would be so he pushed that out of his mind. Royce kicked some dirt on his fire to put it out and retreated to his makeshift hammock. He sat down on it and swung his legs up onto the hammock and slowly drifted off to sleep.

Once morning Royce made plans to go into town to get the saw and scythe he needed. He finished what was left of the cured meat, surprised that no animal came to investigate it at all. Once his cart was emptied of his worldly possessions he set off to Widu. As he walked his thoughts turned to Bridget as they almost always did. He wondered what she was doing at this very moment. The thought passed as he walked through the town gates and made his way to the Smithy to buy the tools he needed. He walked past his own work shop and spotted his Steward Anya tidying up around the place. "Anya?" Royce called, "I need your assistance at my home for a few days. Especially your levitating skills." Royce waited for Anya and then the two of them trundled out of town and toward the location of his new home.

The pair soon reached the pathway that lead off the main road to where the home was still under construction. Together they cleared away most of the undergrowth on the pathway to allow the cart to pass smoothly and unhindered. Royce supervised Anya in showing her the basic design of what he wanted for a home. It was to be nothing too complicated, a room to sleep in, a main room for sitting and eating etc. and possibly another room to allow some inside storage.
Anya told him approximately how many more logs he would need and Royce set to work felling trees and trimming them as he went. After quite a few hours he had cut down enough trees to make 15 logs to match what he already done the other day. He called out to Anya to come and take over from there.

Anya watched from nearby while her Master cut down several trees and trimmed off the limbs and proceeded to cut them into 10 foot lengths. She heard him motion to her to begin her skill. Using her power of levitation Anya moved each log easily and effortlessly over to where the cabin base was and fixed each one in place. As she continued to lift logs into place, she saw that Royce had returned to cutting down trees. The two worked together quite well and soon the log cabin was beginning to take shape. It wouldn't be fancy she thought but it would be sufficient and he'll probably make changes as he went.
Later on well into the afternoon Anya, using her power of levitation, had lifted and secured nearly all the logs needed to make the cabin the only opening left in the building now was where his doorway would go eventually. She saw Royce approach her holding his coin purse in his hand. He gave her the equivalent of her weekly pay, plus and extra 21 freznics as a bonus and bid her a fond farewell. Anya returned to Widu to pick up where she left off in the workshop.

Royce paid Anya for amazing help and watched as she walked off up the path they fashioned together. Royce stood for a few minutes more admiring the simple home they had created together. He thought about how nice it was to have a steward with magical powers. All that he needed to do now was seal the areas between the logs to keep out wind and moisture, lay down a floor, which he'll need to take a trip into town soon for lumber boards, put up a door and decorate the interior.
Royce gazed up at the sun in the sky. It was high up but he saw that it was nearing its descent. He figured it might be late afternoon. It was just now that he noticed that he was drenched in sweat from the days' work. Royce walked over to where he meager possessions were and took off his axe belt and coin purse and hid them underneath his pile of stuff next to his sword. He then made his way to where the big boulder was that he and Bridget had sat upon not long ago. Once he found it he walked a short distance up from it and discovered a shallow pool at the base of a waterfall that fed the stream where the rock sat. Royce judge the pool to be about 50 feet across and it appeared to be 10 feet deep or so. It was just enough to make it more that pleasing.
Royce walked over to one edge of the pool, just beside the bank that was on his new property, and stripped off his shirt, shoes, socks, and hat. He looked around to make doubly sure that no one was around and he unbutton his pants and slid them off quickly and then strode to the edge of the pool where it was deeper and dove in. He broke surface and sputtered a little bit and let out a brief scream as it was colder than it appeared. Royce swam along from side to side of the pool thoroughly enjoying this moment of relaxation and exercise, and getting somewhat clean all at the same time.

It had been sometime since Bridget had paid a social visit to Royce. She knew he'd been busy with his new home and she hadn't wanted to be a bother. Today though she felt the need to see his face. As it was getting late in the afternoon, she gathered up some food and a blanket and thought she'd see if he needed a break.
When Bridget arrived at his property she was surprised see a path had been made through the thicket. He had certainly been making progress! Though she was less prepared for what met her when she walked to the clearing. On what was once a vast empty space now sat a small log home. She stood in shock for a moment, wondering how he'd managed to do so much in so little time, when she realized Royce was no where to be seen. She called out to him but heard no reply. With a sigh, she turned to make her way home she when she thought she heard a scream coming from the direction of the stream. She frowned and hurried to the water.
Bridget walked a bit upstream and found a pile of clothes at the shore. She chuckled quietly to herself and looked out at the pool. She felt her jaw drop as Royce broke the surface. He was facing away from her and wasn't yet aware of her presence. She was glad of that. She couldn't help but stare at the muscles in his arms and shoulders as he pushed his hair off his face. She felt her heart race and her cheeks start to burn. Finally, she cleared her throat before her thoughts could get any further away from her.
"Oh Royce. Don't you look refreshed."

The feeling of the cool water was exhilarating. Royce dunked himself under a couple of times. He finally broke the surface and moved the hair from out of his eyes. He heard his name and spun around to see none other than Bridget standing there just a short ways away. He was not afraid though, he felt very comfortable in her presence. He swam a little closer to her, but not too close. "The water feels great," he said at last after looking at her like he hadn't seen her for a long time. He swam backward a little and showed a little more skin as he dove down only to break surface again. "Come on in." he taunted.
Deep down Royce hoped that she would join him in the water for a nice relaxing swim. It had been too long since they spent some time alone.

Bridget watched him with a smile as he continued to swim about the pool. She was awfully tempted to join him, as the day was quite hot and the water did look quite refreshing. She looked down at her skirt and blouse and frowned. "I'm not exactly dressed for a swim now, am I?" she chuckled at Royce. She admired his lean, yet muscular frame, as he continued to splash about. She wondered what it would be like to be close to him; to run her fingers over his bare shoulders. Bridget bit her lip and then finally spoke up before she could change her mind, "Okay, I'll come for a quick swim, but you must first turn around while I change." She felt her face flush and knew her cheeks were a dark pink. She could hardly believe what she had just agreed to, but there was something inside her urging her on.
She waited until he had turned around and then hesitantly stripped off her skirt and blouse. Beneath her clothing she was wearing a light coloured slip dress - it would do as swimwear in a pinch. She slipped off her sandals and waded into the stream. The cold was a bit of a shock and she gasped when the water hit her mid-section. She did a shallow surface dive and came up in shoulder-deep water several feet behind Royce. "The water feels great, you say? Brr...!" Bridget laughed, "Oh, and it's safe to turn around now."

Royce had listened to Bridget and spun around slightly. He heard her dip under the water and come back to the surface. She told him that he could turn around and when he did the sight that met his eyes was outstanding. She half-floated there in the water slowly treading to keep herself afloat. Her fiery red hair was now damp and hung straight down and draped over her shoulders. The pink in her cheeks made her blue eyes stand out even more.
Royce kicked lightly and swam closer to Bridget. He saw that she was wearing a lightly colored slip and that it was nearly see-through. Royce liked what he saw but knew that it was what was above the water that impressed him the most. She had to be the most intelligent woman he had ever met and knew just then that he was the luckiest man in the world. "You look amazing." He told her and tilted her head up a little and kissed her warm lips. "I'm really thankful that you decided to join me." Royce swam off a little bit bidding her to follow him over to where the waterfall was. The fact that he was mostly naked except for his Talisman and a pair of shorts had escaped his mind.

Bridget smiled at Royce when he kissed her. She was lost in his eyes for a moment and watched him turn and swim away before she processed what it was that he had said to her. She realized in her naivety that her dress was a little see-through. She hoped he didn't notice, or at least would continue to be the gentleman she thought he was and keep his eyes above her shoulders…
She started to feel a little nervous and self-conscious now and could feel her embarrassment burn in her cheeks. She suddenly worried that perhaps she’d not used her best judgement this evening. While she yearned to be close to him, to feel his touch and his lips again, she was angered at how her body had betrayed her common sense.
Yet Bridget followed behind him nonetheless. When they got to the waterfall, she kept a bit of distance, watching and wondering what he had planned.
