ORP: A new Life A new Town

[Katie]

There was a part of Katie which was telling her to go back... run, run, run... for the professor had some secret plan. What plan, she mused? But she couldn't run, not now that he was smiling at her and beckoning her in his cozy home. She stood there frozen, yet shivering. Was it nerves or the weather causing the turmoil within? She wasn't sure.

However, Katie gained a little confidence, thanks to his warm smile. "T-Thank you, Professor Kendor she replied as she entered the parlor. She pushed back the hood off her head and questioned "Where may I place this basket of goodies? Scanning the room, she noted the massive fireplace with the roaring flames and then she suddenly smelled a whiff of home cooking coming from beyond the dining table. "I hope I am not too early. I have brought some Stuffed Hippogriff Eggs. They are delicious! And I brought a Peach Cobbler for dessert. Where may I place the basket of food? She didn't want to stare at him, so she smiled as she glanced around once again.

[Kendor]

Kendor saw the look of panic cross her face she was shivering. He wondered why she was afraid had he done something to make her afraid. When Katie mentioned she had, Stuffed Hippogriff Eggs, Peach Cobbler for dessert. His mouth started to water. "Peach cobbler, I haven't had that since I was a little boy at my mothers knee." Let me take that basket my lady. He took her arm and led her to a big comfy chair next to the fireplace."PLease sit and relax, supper will be ready shortly." He took the basket and place the, Stuffed Hippogriff Eggs, Peach Cobbler on the table in the dining room. He placed the food in bowls and brought it to the table. Kendor walked back into the livingroom."Supper is served."

He gave her his elbow and escorted her to the dining room. Excuse the bookase but I often read while I eat.he led her to a chair next to his, he pulled out the chair and held it for her.

[Katie]

After he took the basket, Katie pulled off her cape and mittens and enjoyed the warmth of the fire. However, he was not gone long before returning and leading her to the chair close by his.

"Professor Kendor, I hope my Peach Cobbler will be as delicious as you remember. Harold, my steward, loves Peach Cobbler. He dropped me off here at your door. Do you have a steward too?"

"The meal really smells scrumptious! Did you cook or do you have a servant?" As her tummy grumbled, she blushed slightly. Feeling more at ease, she smiled sheepishly at him while hoping he hadn't heard her tummy. He seemed a little older than she did, she speculated. But she vowed not to ask such personal questions; she knew she would be his pupil again very soon.

[Kendor]

Kendor grinned when he saw Katie blush. "My dear Katie, please call me Kendor. Professor makes me sound like an old man. I am just a man who has dedicated his life to learning from a young age. My mother taught me to read and bought me books whenever we went to town. I have studied at the university every chance I got. Now I teach some classes. Fortunately I was lucky enough to have your lovely presence at a couple of my classes. I don't have a steward. I do my own cooking.Hopefully you will enjoy the meal. The peach cobbler looks delicious. If it tastes half as good as you are beautiful it will surpass my expectations. Enough about me tell me about yourself."He leaned closer to her.

Surprised by his sudden frankness, Katie forced a faint smile as she began fidgeting with her hands. "Uh. Excuse me?"

Her mind raced as she tried to absorb all he had just stated so nonchalantly. Had he informed her they were in this home all alone? The two of them sitting here were without a chaperone? Oh, my! Her cheeks turned a crimson hue of red as she gave him a thorough once-over.

"I am sorry, I was deep in thought. What was your question again?" She blatantly lied, but she didn't know how to behave nor how to act at this moment. The only thing she knew was~ she could seek forgiveness at the Cathedral's altar.

But before he could answer, she responded... "Wait! Tell you about me? Well, I was born far far away and moved here some time ago. When I moved here, I was a pixie fairy. When I went to the ViceRegal's Office and bought my Mill Shop, I was transformed to a human. I am but a simple lady who loves Widu's Cathedral work and my family. I enjoy learning- like you do. My hobbies are riding Gretel, raising flowers, playing with Eli (I only recently adopted him because he was homeless and now I love him), cooking and taking baths in my hot springs.' Why did she just mention her hot springs to him? She smirked at her self thinking that was not proper.

"Professor.. I mean 'Kendor'... When will you teach again at the university? Also, do you know what you will teach next?"

[Kendor]

Kendor saw Katie's face turn beet red as she looked him over. Katie rattled off things she liked doing. When she mentioned Eli he wondered who he is.

He served Katie and himself. "I don't know when I will teach again or what I will teach. What are you interested in learning?" Kendor gazed intently at Katie.

[Katie]

After he served her plate, she placed two Stuffed Hippogriff Eggs on her plate and passed the tin of Griff Eggs to the professor. She smiled warmly at her plate of food and then back to him, "I'm famished! I haven't eaten any breakfast and this looks so good."

Trying to seem more interested in the meal in front of her than the man, Katie, put down her fork and took a sip of water. Afterward she gazed at his book titles across the room displayed on the bookshelf. Then she appraised him, "Right now I am self-studying 'Mastering the Art of Juggling'. Do you have any recommendations to make?"

"On another subject, have you lived here very long?" She commenced sampling the meal while paying close attention to the near by gentleman and the answers he would give.

[Kendor]

Kendor took the Stuffed Hippogriff Eggs that Katie handed him, his fingers touched her hand and grazed her skin. When she smiled at him it warmed his heart. Kendor smiled at Katie. When she asked if he had any suggestions and that she was self studying he smiled."Ah a student after my own heart. I to do alot of self study. First we must find out what you want to be what profession, What way you want to follow. State or Army, Priest, or Sorcerer. Have you made a choice yet?"Kendor reached over and took her hand gently in his and rubbed the back of her hand with his thumb.

Awareness of his touch shook her every fiber. This experience was quite foreign to Katie for she was naïve yet innocent and gullible. Wasn't it the point of her coming to Widu, Kiene, to learn these creatures way of life so she may gain in wisdom and knowledge? "Professor? I am unsure which path in life to consider. Since you are one of my most competent professors, would you explain the different majors and then I will have more insight as to which path I should choose? I simply have no idea which way the winds blow for me in my life here in this kingdom." She took a bite of the tasty vegetables although she watched him cautiously from the corner of her eye.

Was she really after his heart, as he had spoken earlier? Then she realized she had called him professor once again. Two things were certain~ he was a good professor and a good cook, she thought as she consumed all of her food. She then served a helping of the cobbler and passed it onward to him.

"You're a very good cook! Maybe one day when Calysta has the Widu, Kiene Kingdom Fair, I will kick your duff in The Cook-Off Contest! Although you are a good cook, Professor, I am willing to go head-to-head, toe-to-toe in a match up," she blurted and then chuckled at the idea of challenging him.

[Kendor]

Kendor grinned at her challange, "I accept my lady but I may just kick your pretty duff he smiled cheekily." He took the Peach Cobbler and placed it before him. Taking a bite it awakened all his senses. He placed his hand on hers and started telling her about the different ways."This is very good just like I remember. Katie my dear it is just Kendor tonight. Now I can say that State way is for the government, It creates points, Judicial, Communication, Audit points. Judicial points are for the court to be able to try people for crimes, Communication points are so the mayor can communicate with its residents, Audit points are so the government can perform an audit. Army way creates points for leading and creating a army. Priest skills are for creating Faith points and becoming a priest if you want and defensive skills. Sorcerer Skills, allow you to perform attack spells."
