Rannek stood in front of the, in his opinion, rather foreboding cathedral – but then again, most cathedrals were foreboding to him – and merely stood there for a few minutes, with his eyes shut, trying to get a general feel of the place... Like most cathedrals, his memories of it were... not very positive. Not wanting to dwell too much on it, he looks at Belle and nods to her, ready to proceed in, wanting to hurry up and get this over with. He was a little dusty from the travelling – as was his usual attire – but travelling's his life, so he bears with it.

The travel to Widu had been, at best, uneventful, and for that, the female was thankful. Uneventful meant no problems had been procured and that, in itself, meant safety, did it not?

And so, when the large, hulking male, also known as Rannek, had led her to the cathedral and gave pause, his shoulders stiff and spine erect, the female would step close, slipping her small, dainty hand into his grasp and look up to him, letting the barest hint of a smile spread across cupid's bow, hoping to draw him further from the memories that haunted him even now.

"Rannek mine, we can leave now if you are uncomfortable?" Soothingly she murmurs, leaning up and stretching so that she could place her free hand upon his face, fingers tenderly stroking the stubble upon his cheek and chin. After all, he was rather large in height compared to her, dwarfing her petite size by a good foot or two. She, too, held little dust upon her person, but with traveling from one place to another with little rest to freshen up, it was to be expected. At least they did not smell!

Rannek gently squeezes Belle's hand for comfort as he turns to look down at her, giving her a rather strained smile. "No, I promised I'd be here... I will be fine." With his free hand he starts massaging his shoulders, relaxing the tense, well-conditioned muscles. He releases a pent-up breath as he takes the lead, entering the cathedral with Belle in hand, hoping they were not too late...

It seems they were not. He lets out a small sigh of relief, thankful they made it in time. He takes a few moments to examine the inside of the cathedral itself, and the people already there. Noticing Aida, a smirk plays on his lips as he releases Belle's hand, not wanting to anchor her, and makes a beeline straight for a seat near Aida, and merely sits there silently, a smirk plastered on his face, his mood suddenly lightening considerably as he makes sure the bottle of whiskey on his hip is seen by her.

Aida grins as Karina waves poor Duke's paw up and down and reaches over to give him a scratch behind the ears, "Everyone looks rather nice, don't they? With a few noticeable exceptions..." She half turns her head to give Rannek a meaningful glare as he sits beside her, wondering if Belle also is here. Presumably. Aida does, of course, notice the bottle of whiskey hanging on his hip and makes considerable effort not to roll her eyes. But then again, she realises, she thinks she was really rather meant to notice.

The soft squeeze to her hand in response to the gentle comfort she offered had the female smiling brilliantly at him and when he wandered in, she would, too. Awed, she glances around, gaze flitting here and there, taking little note of when Rannek had released her hand in favor of taking a seat beside Aida, but she was just too preoccupied with ogling the interior. Excitedly, she wanders around, careful to not bump into anyone, or anything. After all, she didn't want to break anything or ruin Katie's big day.

Finally sating her curiosity of the building, she decides to wander back to Rannek's side, humming and waving to Aida when she notices her. "Salutations, Aida!" she greets cheerily, and would have plopped down on the floor, if it weren't for the fact that many people were already sitting in the pews. So, going by that example, she takes the empty spot to the other side of Rannek.

Alder wasn't quite so dead to the world that he didn't notice who else was joining. There was that drunk knight, the cat lady, the potato, the other usual people he'd expect and... why was she here?

The angel was supposed to live in Fenia... well, technically she had been invited, but still... hmm, well, he was only here because he felt it would save trouble later. He hadn't even bothered to change out of the rags that he usually wore. After all, he didn't want to disturb the baptism by spending the whole day sitting there and squirming. Anything but rags just made him feel uncomfortable. As long as she didn't disturb anything, he could live with her presence... so he went back to fiddling with his coin until things started and generally trying to make himself look anonymous so nobody would talk to him... once again, he was completely out of his depth in this sort of thing and had no idea what he was doing other than just sitting there and observing. If people actually expected him to do something or comment, he was going to just have to think of some excuse.

Still, he didn't like the fact that the angel was here... even if there was nothing he could do about it.

She arrives at the cathedral in Widu, only slightly disheveled from her mode of transportation. With a quick flick of her fingers, her hair falls into place; she gives her skirt a one-handed shake, and while the dirt falls out, the wrinkles do also, leaving her clothes clean and wrinkle-free. She'd gone to a bit of trouble today with her clothes, trying to find something new-ish to wear in her closet. She'd settled on a blue cotton, seemingly cut in a "shepherdess" style, and it was (unknown to her) quite fetching. With a quick glance around outside, she follows the last entrants into the building through the main doors in front, and is impressed again by the size of the place. There's arrangements of flowers all around, which really give a lovely scent and a festive look.

She scans the folks as she decides where to sit; she decided to sit rather close so she won't miss anything. There's Alder, sitting alone and too far back from everything for her to see well, She nods in his direction, if he sees her, to let him know she's greeting him.

Further in, she sees several people sitting rather close to the altar. She hesitates just a moment, then squares her shoulders and joins them, sitting very close to the two women at the altar.

With a start, she realizes that one of those is Katie!! And the other woman looks very very familiar, though for a moment or two she doesn't have a name.

Sitting toward the aisle on the front pew, she bows her head and breathes calmly. It was a fast and furious flight, but she shouldn't be out of breathe during the ceremony.

After calming herself, she opens her eyes and views her surroundings more closely.

Nocturne, Dwayberry, and Aldwyn had been traveling the long path from Fenia across through the strawberry fields of Bravia. It was there that he proposed to her on the nght of Love Day while Belle had watched over Aldwyn for them. There had been a bit of chaos in between the departure , but finally they arrived at the Widu temple. Noct held Dway's hand in this, his thumb moving gently over the back of her hand as she held Aldwyn with her other as they made their way to find a place on the benches. He offered a smile or a nod in greeting to all, coming to study the ceremonies yet again.

Looking around the cathedral, Deacon Gawain sees several guests he knows and he smiles as he nods a greeting to them all. He bows before the altar steps, then turns to face all in the cathedral.

*Welcome friends, I am Deacon Gawain and you are here to witness the Initiation Rite of Katie Sunspear."

Gawain smiles and inclines his head to Katie and motions to her to join him at the altar. At the same time that she approaches, he waves his hand gently in the air - torches on the sides of the altar steps light up one by one and music begins to play in the background.

"An important journey lies ahead, for such a journey you must be prepared and determined to fulfill its challenges that you shall face. This crucial step will guide you on the path you choose, without it...you may lose yourself."

He turns to face the altar and waves his hand gracefully across the altar, it glows with the magic of the mages and focuses in three spots. he places an individual vial in each spot. The magic fills them and becomes liquid.

He say as he motions toward each vial in turn.

"The first potion is a sinister black, it bubbles as you uncork it and has an overwhelming smell that makes you feel powerful. To take this potion you commit yourself to the dark arts of the Faith, never to be blinded by weakness you see the future and strive to shape it in your eyes."

"The second potion is a bright blue potion, it feel a wave to calm and peacefulness as you uncork it and its sweet pleasant aroma reminds you of kind memories. To take this potion you commit yourself to the light arts of the Faith, to help guide those weaker then you in any shape or form and be their light in the darkness, you see the past as a means to learn from."

"The third is a clear potion, you feel nothing as you uncork it and it has no particular smell it might as well be water. To take this potion you commit yourself to balance, you are a master of none. You understand that sometimes you must be the 'monster' in order to protect others. The past and future do not interest you, for you live in the present."

He then asks Katie.

"Do you understand the commitment that you are about to start?"
