[RP] Katie's Baptism

[Dwayberry]

Dwayberry had never been in the Widu temple before. She never went to the temple, well, almost never. When she first came to Fenia, she had begged a priest for help and he had sent her away. Since then, she had regularly broken the windows of Fenia's temple and kept the glass shards as a souvenir. The last time she had been inside a temple was almost two years ago, when she gave birth to Aldwyn. Her steward didn't know where else to take her, so he took her where many people went when they were in pain and needed healing.

The deaconesses had helped her well through labour, and after that, Dwayberry had spared the windows. She never became a temple visitor though, and only came here now because she and Nocturne were invited by Katie. The woman was friendly and this ritual was probably important to her, so why not? Besides, it was nice to visit places as a family, and it would show the Widu citizens that her family wouldn't part so easily. She and Nocturne were engaged now and not even Rieron could end that with his stupid army.

Dwayberry took a seat next to Nocturne and lifted Aldwyn on her lap, then quietly watched the to her unfamiliar ceremony, only raising an eyebrow at the sight of the three potions. She wondered what was in those vials and felt tempted to ask Nocturne to steal some of that to analyse it.

[Eleine]

She arrives at the Cathedral.Standing infront,she takes a deep breath before entering.She came for her friend.She has not step into a cathedral since her conversion to the Voivod faith. Crossing the door,she see several creatures awaiting.She was'nt alone.She walk in waving to everyone.She stand and wait for the ceremony to start.

[Katie]

He then asks Katie.

"Do you understand the commitment that you are about to start?"

"Yes, I do" she stated without any hesitation.

[Gawain]

Gawain smiles and steps aside and motions for Katie to step forward and choose a potion.

"Remember, there is no right answer but perhaps you would wish to choose the one which will allow you to truly feel the magic of your preferred arts of the Faith...." He pauses and smiles. "...so pick your potion and drink it."

[Katie]

Following Deacon Gawain's lead, Katie stepped forward and hastily gave the first potion a glance; obviously it didn't interest her in the least bit for she suddenly turned to the third potion; it seemed very interesting to her. But after reviewing it, she pivoted toward the second potion. It was a bright appealing blue color with a sweet smell. Why was she so drawn to it? It was her desire and goal to travel the path of peace and commitment to the light arts of the faith. Committing herself to guide those weaker was a strong desire of hers also. For these reasons she chose the blue potion for all to see and then she suddenly lifted it to her lips and drank until all was consumed.

[Ceol]

Ceol fluttered into the Cathedral, right on time to see Katie choose and drink her potion.
She quietly took a seat somewhere to the side where she had a good view of the ceremony. She brushed a tear from her face, she was so proud of Katie!

[Gawain]

Gawain nods his head at the choice as he watches Katie drink the potion, he then takes a deep breath and closes his eyes. He extends his arms and channels the essence around them, with a few clicks of his fingers in the air, the streams of magic around them become visible if only for a few moments, like thin ribbons the magic connected everything.

To some the streams of magic sang to them, and to most it simply offered a warm fuzzy feeling like that of a lovers embrace. Gawain opens his eyes and takes this moment to see the color of the aura that surrounded Katie, It was blue, he smiles and bows as the streams of magic slowly fade away.

"As an official of the Faith, I hereby declare your Initiation Rites completed and your first steps in your journey taken."

[Katie]

Although she felt a deep peace of mind, soul and spirit after drinking the potion, it also gave her a feeling of compassion and purpose from being fully satisfied. She now felt this was her true purpose. To love the church, the mages, the path which would guide her toward the way, the truth and the highest light alignment was hers to cherish and to no man other than to help and encourage and edify him.

"May the Mages and Spirits be with me as I join the church/cathedral from this day forward. I shall faithfully give myself to it and no other, forever more. Amen."

She stepped into Deacon Gawain's circle of space and bestowed a warm embrace and then a kiss on his cheek in thanksgiving for the lovely baptismal ceremony.

"Thank you and bless you" she whispered for his ears only.

She brought forth a hand full of the lovely little white blooms from within her string purse; she passed one to each of the witnesses as a thank you for attending the service.

[Gawain]

Gawain smiled at Katie as he gave her a warm welcoming hug in return for the embrace she had given him.

He whispered back to her. "You're welcome and bless you also."

He then watched as she went to thank her witnesses.

[Katie]

Katie finished thanking everyone and then invited them to her place for light refreshments of hot tea, cookies and fresh fruit.
