Coming home to Oakston Manor (ORP)

Post by LadyWhisp »

Nestled deep in the woods outside of the town of Imperius lies the stately three-story manor of Oakston, a sprawling estate home as is part of the Barony of Oakston so graciously granted to one by the name of Lady Whispy Wood by His Royal Majesty, King Zuan of Fenia. She had been granted the beautiful manor house and property with her title of Baroness of Oakston that His Royal Majesty graced her with from time spent working for the King and Crown during her residency in Widu. She had her steward, Elias, move into Oakston ahead of her arrival in Imperius prior to the mayoral elections taking place. Elias informed her via messenger that the house was well taken care of, and that very little was needed by means of needing to be moved in in regards to furnishings for it. He followed her instructions of hiring on staff and made sure of their proper appointments prior to her arrival.

It was late afternoon before she arrived on her palfrey, cantering across the bridge of the gate house before she entered the courtyard. Elias was out speaking with a couple of groomsmen and spied her coming toward him, waiving a hand in the air to her in greetings. "Good evening, Madam Whispy. It's so good to see you once again. I hope your trip was an uneventful one. Here, let me help you...." and motioned for a groom to bring a stool over so she could slide off the saddle with Elias' assistance. With her feet firmly on the ground, she stepped aside so that her horse could be taken to the stables and worked over after the long ride from town.

She walked with her steward towards the entrance of the great hall, her soft voice could just be heard over the crunching of her feet upon the packed snow leading up to the doorway. As she entered the door, Elias spoke out orders for the cook to bring forth the best dishes to be made in honor of her coming home, making sure to see to it that everything was just perfect for the evenings feast.
