[ORP] The Fire of Paz

His walk back from Bravia had been without incident, and Wandress seemed to have become more accomodating to him again after a spell of weeks bereft of any contact. He tried to understand how busy she was between the Council and the Town Hall, but it was damaging her, she wasnt supposed to be couped up in offices all day.

Sighing to himself as he gets closer to the town, hoping his next visit with her isnt so long, he spots an orange glow coming from the Market area of the town. It seemed a little late for trade, and the lamps in the area were usually out by this time.

Curious, he makes his way through the streets, the buildings more dense as they near the market, the streets narrow. His eyes widen as he spots a group of men quickly making their way out of the area, his eyes following them until they turn off, out of sight. Soon the smell of smoke fills his nostrils, and the glow reflecting off near by buildings brighter now. Rounding the corner, he is met with a wall of flame and acrid smoke filling the area. It took him a moment to take in the scene, the wind was blowing North and would have the fire consuming near by buildings very soon.

In a moment of panic, he hesitates, not sure what to do. Taking a deep breath, he slows himself down. Then opening his eyes he scans the area, the well in the town was in the middle of the market. The Church his eyes shine as he makes his way back to the Church, the Tower was no problem for him to ascend, quickly climbing in through a small opening.

The ropes for the bells hanging still in the darkness, he grins for a moment before leaping the gap. His fingers slip down the rope for a moment before they manage to grip. As soon as his weight tugs the thick rope, the bell swings above his head, ringing loudly. Letting go of the rope, he drops to the floor, crouching for a moment. Standing again, he grabs for the rope, tugging again, causing the bell to ring out again.

In her little shed her fragile body recharged after a lengthy tour during visiting hours introducing herself to the nearby neighbours. It seemed like a dream, it was a dream, she could hear bells ringing but she was not about to get married. The bell ringing becomes more and more vivid until she wakes up and notices the horror in front of her: flames and smoke.

Looking around she does not know what to do with several thoughts rushing through her head. The main priority for her was to escape and she kept asking herself,
Will i survive?

Alex had a room at the INN for some time now she never really wanted to be tied to one place. Beside her big brother would come searching for her again like always did. She knew he loved her so did her sister-in-law and niece the little curly haired lunatic she thought as she found her way to her room. After a quick meal and wash Alex climbed into bed with Cybele her big cat that was still a bird sitting looking out the window.

Alex was dreaming of this mean man messing with the cage she built for her niece when she heard bells. Wait I don't remember bells ringing. Waking with jolt Alex had unconsciously snapped her fingers changing Cybele back to a big cat. What... who... why is that bell ringing this bloody late? Alex wasn't happy with that person so since she was up she was going to find them and give them a piece of her mind.

Heading out the door Alex smelled smoke, maybe the cook was up early but they needed cooking lesson she though as she headed down the hall to the top landing where she was met with flames. Not good Cybele lets go back; turning she headed back to her room. Opening the door she was met with flames. Cybele ran and jumped through the window but it was too late for Alex or was it... she turn to head down the hall. Alex knew Cybele was going for help the question was would it be in time.

Willow decided to go into town early to her Weaving Store. She knew she had lots of work too do - she had lots of unfinished projects in little piles left for her return. Once she arrived, she settled down and started sewing. Max was bored and he lay down and snoozed.

Willow was so busy, that she didn't notice the smoke outside until Max woke up and said fire. She looked at him and was about to say don't be silly, when she saw smoke outside her window. She was in shock and dropped what she was doing and rushed to look out the window. At this moment, she heard the bells ringing. Willow and Max looked outside unsure what to do, she knew some first aid but she was a little scared of fire and wondered where it was? Not seeing any flames, Willow slowly opened the door and glanced outside and then started coughing.

It was another world outside full of smoke, going back for something to cover her mouth, she ventured outside and glanced around. Looking towards the market place, she saw flames and then started shouting FIRE!!!!! (many times) and then knocked loudly on shop doors nearby (trying to get people's attention).

Leaving the church, he lets the bell ring out. He had no real investment in the town and only a few people knew he even existed, but he couldnt let this fire take hold. Maybe a part of him still had a conscience, although he had reintegrated himself back into the town, his feeding patterns worked around the people and his business was unknown to anyone.

Yes, his reasons for alerting people were selfish, for his own gains, at least thats what he would tell himself. It was still dark enough for him to be out doors, but he wouldnt be able to linger long, especially if it turned out to be a clear day. Instincivly looking up, the smoke from the fire was blotting out any stars that may be showing. The wind seemed to pick up in that moment. Walking back to the market, he looks around, wondering when the townsfolk would wake up to his alarm.

Kit was barking but Maria & Datron were sound asleep. Rolling over, the little fairy mumbles something that's supposed to quiet the little fox but doesn't. "Mmnnnoooo Kit... sssshhhh"

Then the smell of smoke startles her to consciousness. Jumping out of bed Maria bolts over to the window but can see nothing except smoke rising from the center of town. "Datron", she calls as she grabs her robe. "Hmmm?" Jumping on the bed and shaking him, she raises her voice, "DATRON WAKE UP!!!! Something's wrong in town. We have to go NOW!!!"

As she realised the danger she was in she tried to get out of bed, quickly stumbling on the floor forgetting her bed was quite tall. Injuring her right leg she limped to the door trying to get it open. She was so nervous she could barely focus.

The air was getting warmer but she couldn't hear any sounds. Maybe she was still sleeping and all this was a really bad nightmare.

Her work was quiet business.

She could not remember the minutes that had passed since she had made that fateful mistake, a little noise as she popped the lock on the patio door of the home that she was invading. It had been a while since the slumbering seemed to return to a normal pattern, but she was always careful, cautious. She was even more fortunate to learn that the door swung with ease, and she murmerd a thanks to the others for showing her how to always grease the hinges and allow it to set a moment before attempting. Slipping in soundlessly she quickly swung the window almost all the way closed again and moved across the floor to the dresser.

Her careful planning had payed off, she counted the steps with ease, and slipped her fingers from the gloves to feel around for anything that felt interesting, ornate hairbrush, necklace, earings, any bobble to make the time worth the effort. Finding a couple meager items she quickly slips these into her wraps.

Turning to make her way back to the window she hears the alarm ring and smells the acrid stench of smoke. She pauses for just a moment before darting as soundlessly and quickly as possible to the open window. Would it be the second mistake of the evening?

Such deep meditation of body spirit and mind
Had held him in this stasis for far to long a time
And training served to his accord to ignore pain and desire
but try and hold he could not ignore the the smell of acrid fire

For first he sat in somber still, holding tight to his tranquility
the space of mind, the place of mind that was free of culpability
But then as acrid smell of smoke and tainted heat he felt
That peace of mind, that rest of mind slowly began to melt

So long it had taken for him to reach this place where he could commune
to find what was the faith the cause for all that would die and bloom
for whence he came a wanderer, now rooted in this the land
how close he was, how far he was, the answers of the faith at hand.

The Garden of the plane beyond in hues beyond the tongue
The Lakes and streams, the Grass and greens, a color, but a song
The Valley that engulfed it, with walls so tall and high
The from the base a mountain, and from the top the sky

But beauty beyond his words could not explain his loss
For coming to this plane beyond had come at great cost
And here he sat holding tight to the ground beneath the feet
of the one who had passed before and had made the time to teach.

The color's dimmed from gold to gray, the mountain sky turned black
A bead of sweat upon his brow, the fire on his back
His eyes they failed him steadily, gazing on this plane and the next
Until he could not control it past and fell back on his earthbound nest

Water earth and air were weak, the symbols of his path
the water spilled, the earth to rock, and wind just somehow lacked
But to his back the fire burned more intense than he could stand
when he came to, it's how he know, the fire was on the land

He struggled to step, but could not stand
His body weak, as he could understand
So to save, he fell, and rolled to a wall instead
And closed his eyes, prepared to join the dead

And so with languished cry
he turned his head up towards the sky
and with a voice beyond his own
Let out a cry, a gasp, a moan
That one should here his languished plea
In the center of the market, with no strength left to flee
In the heart of this firestorm is where he would be.

Willow could hear Max barking in the distance but nothing else. She walking in the smoke and could feel heat but she couldn't see anything. Suddenly she thought she heard someone call out in fright. Was Willow walking into danger? Where was Max, she couldn't hear him now? Where was everyone?

Max who had ran ahead, realised he had lost his mistress. He started barking hoping to locate her again, no reply from Willow. So he started heading back in the direction he had come from, hoping that she hadn't turned off. He ran back to her but couldn't find her.

Willow kept walking, calling out is anyone there? Max! She had her arms out in front of her and she hoped that she wouldn't trip over something and hurt herself too.
