Wisdom

I have seen the sun break through
to illuminate a small field
for a while, and gone my way
and forgotten it. But that was the pearl
of great price, the one field that had
treasure in it. I realise now
that I must give all that I have
to possess it. Life is not hurrying...

...on to a receding future, nor hankering after
an imagined past. It is the turning
aside like Moses to the miracle
of the lit bush, to a brightness
that seemed as transitory as your youth
once, but is the eternity that awaits you.

Blessings to all.

There may be days when you get up in the morning and things aren’t the way you had hoped they would be. That’s when you have to tell yourself that things will get better.
There are times when people disappoint you and let you down. But those are the times when you must remind yourself to trust your own judgments and opinions, to keep your life focused on believing in yourself.
There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life, and it is up to you to accept them.
Constantly keep yourself headed in the right direction for you. It may not be easy at times, but in those times of struggle you will find a stronger sense of who you are.
So when the days come that are filled with frustration and unexpected responsibilities, remember to believe in yourself and all you want your life to be.
The challenges and changes will only help you to find the goals that you know are meant to come true for you.

Keep Believing in Yourself!

Blessings to all.

Sunday's Mass:

You've got to take the good with the bad, smile with the sad, love what you've got, and remember what you had. Always forgive, but never forget. Learn from mistakes, but never regret.

Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said that it'd be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

Blessings to all

Today's Mass:

Never for a moment think that you are weak because you have the divine source of power within you. We all emanate from that divine source and hence eternally connected to that source of power. No matter how much challenges life throws at you, always remember you are strong. Never let anything disconnect you from that divine source. If you ever feel down or weak, then please take a moment to disconnect from the worldly drama and reconnect yourself to your higher self and regain your strength back so you can face every challenge and come out victorious.

Blessings to all

What’s More Important? The Cup Or The Coffee?

A group of alumni, well established in their lives and careers, got together to visit their old university professor. The conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups – porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain-looking, some expensive, and some exquisite – telling them to help themselves to the coffee.

After all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: “If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.” “Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases, it’s just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink.

What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups & and then began eyeing each other’s cups.”

“Now consider this: Life is the coffee. The jobs, houses, things, money and position in society are the cups. They are just used to hold and contain life. The type of cup we have does not define nor change the quality of life we live.

Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee that Life has provided us.” Life brews the coffee, not the cups... enjoy your coffee. Being happy doesn’t mean everything’s perfect. It means you’ve decided to see beyond the imperfections. Live in peace and peace will live in you.

Blessings to all.

How would we best deal with the inevitable adversity in our lives? There are numerous ways, such as to keep trying to run away from it, keep trying to fight it, merely accepting it, or remembering that within crisis lies opportunity.
Adversity cannot, and should not, always be avoided. But we don't have to merely accept, we can use the opportunities nature provides us with as a lesson in life to express ourselves ,and to create something new.

Adversity, how to deal with it?
To keep fighting, running, seems unfit
But in every crisis, keep in mind
Lie opportunities unconfined
Before this mass will make you tired
May you go happy and inspired.

Forgiveness

`To Err is normal but to Forgive is Divine.`

We all make mistakes and hopefully we do learn from them.

But, how often do we forgive?

When you make a mistake, how do you feel when the other creature forgives you?

Ask yourself this....'When another makes a mistake, what do you do?'
'Do you find it within yourself to forgive them or do you berate them for it?'

Forgiveness shows the true quality of a creature for it is the easy choice to be angry.

Blessings to all.

The house with the golden windows

Once upon a time, a little girl lived in a small, very simple and poor house in a valley. As time passed she would play in the small garden and as she grew she was able to see over the garden fence and across the valley to a wonderful house high on a hill almost to a mountaintop. And this house had shiny, golden windows, so golden and shiny that the little girl would dream of how magical it would be to grow up and live in a house with shiny, sparkly, golden windows instead of an ordinary, thatched-roof and obviously simple house like the one she lived in.

However, although she loved her family, she yearned to live in such a shiny, sparkly, golden home and so she dreamed all day about how wonderful and exciting it must feel to live there.

When she got to an age where she gained enough skill and sensibility to go outside her garden fence, she asked her mother if she could go for a walk outside the gate and up the lane. After asking her mother for several days, she was finally permitted to venture out while her mother insisted that she keep close to the house because her mother didn't want her to wander too far.

The day was beautiful and the little girl knew exactly where she wanted to go! So, with excitement and a skip in her gait, she sauntered on the cobblestone path and across the valley and then up the lane until she arrived at the gate of the shiny, sparkly, golden home atop the hill.

Briefly, she turned her head back and focused on the path which led to this fancy home and then on what she thought was the fancy house itself...and was so disappointed as she realized that all the windows were plain and rather dirty, reflecting nothing other than the sad neglect of the house that stood derelict. How could it have seemed so glitzy from afar and now look so rundown from this close vantage point?

Feeling disappointed, she didn't go any farther. She turned around with a heavy heart and commenced her journey homeward. As she glanced up she saw a sight which amazed her...there across the way on her side of the valley was a little house and its windows glistened a shiny golden hue as the sun shone on her little home.

She realized that she had been living in her golden house and all the love and care she found there was what made her house the 'golden home'. Everything she dreamed of was right there in front of her nose! She scurried home happily with a new attitude of being thankful for what she had.

Blessings to all.

Always be yourself. Never try to hide who you are. The only shame is to have shame. Always stand up for what you believe in. Always question what other people tell you. Never regret the past… it’s a waste of time. There’s a reason for everything; every mistake, every moment of weakness, every terrible thing that has happened to you. Grow from it. The only way you can ever get the respect of others is when you show them that you respect yourself. And most importantly, do your thing and never apologise for being you.

Blessings to all.

A Pound of Butter

There was a farmer who sold a pound of butter to a baker. One day the baker decided to weigh the butter to see if he was getting the right amount, which he wasn’t. Angry about this, he took the farmer to court.

The judge asked the farmer if he was using any measure to weight the butter. The farmer replied, “Your Honour, I am a peasant. I don’t have a proper measure, but I do have a scale.”

The judge asked, “Then how do you weigh the butter?”

The farmer replied; “Your Honour, long before the baker started buying butter from me, I have been buying a pound loaf of bread from him. Every day when the baker brings the bread, I put it on the scale and give him the same weight in butter. If anyone is to be blamed, it is the baker.”

Moral of the story: In life, you get what you give. Don’t try and cheat others.

Blessings to all.
