Re: Temple of Paz

Willow enjoyed going to Temple - she felt at peace in the building.

But was quite shocked what the storms left of the building - it was a big mess. She helped moved some chairs first and then opened the doors to help air out the temple. Grabbing a mop, Willow tried mopping up the water that was everywhere. While she worked, she thought of Adonair (her love) and wondered if maybe she should get baptised in this beautiful temple one day.

Max was supervising the clean up.

Maria runs to the temple when she hears about the clean up effort. In her younger years she spent a lot of time cleaning the windows here. Now she visits only on occasion. Spotting Willow, she grabs a bucket to help the clean up effort. The results of the poll will be in soon and she wonders what the people will decide.

Priestess Aarwen of Paz is so happy to see two Pazians, the viceroy and a councillor no less, helping out in the temple.

Greetings viceroy Maria and councillor Willow of Paz. It is such a privillege to be able to count with your assistance and see that no matter how high one's station is they will heed to their temple's calling.

Slowly the chairs were being moved to the side allowing the cleaners to come in and do their job. It was very tasking but eventually the water was replaced by solid rock, which was allowed to slowly dry off. Sunlight flooded the small temple once more, revealing the beautiful ornamented features dotted around the building.

I never realised we had such a richly decorated temple. Maybe the years of encrusted dust slowly covered these treasures and because of the rains and the deep clean they were brought back to us, back to their community, to inspire great deeds. - mumbled to herself.

Meantime an acolyte arrives with a parchment with the town hall seal and the priestess knew it was the results of the town poll regarding the mass usage. Slowly unfolding the document she wizzed through the information and smiled. The option she so fervently had favoured had collected the majority of the votes. Approaching the door the pins the parchment to it so that all can read it (or ask someone who can).
Poll Question: Would you prefer to have unique mass: (Ends Dec 09, 1650 at 5:10 am)
Results: (Total Votes: 32)

* Every day because I go to mass everyday (37.5%)
* Twice a week because mass should be unique and not lose interest (43.75%)
* Never. I don\'t like the masses we have. (0%)
* Mass? What\'s that? (18.75%)
Oh, I need to include this in my mass. - and looking at the sun dial she realises she is already late - I must change to my mass clothes! - and rushed to the back room later emerging dressed in her deep red priestess garment.

Please indulge me as I thank publicly our very own viceroy Maria and fellow councillor Willow for their hard work while helping moving many chairs last evening. It is good to see the highest command in the land give an example of humility, and that no small plea goes unheard. Actually, this has inspired me and humility is the theme of this mass.

But before I start my moral speech I have an announcement. The town poll regarding the mass routine has ended and the following results have been published:

Poll Question: Would you prefer to have unique mass: (Ends Dec 09, 1650 at 5:10 am)
Results: (Total Votes: 32)

* Every day because I go to mass everyday (37.5%)
* Twice a week because mass should be unique and not lose interest (43.75%)
* Never. I don\'t like the masses we have. (0%)
* Mass? What\'s that? (18.75%)

Therefore, from now on we will have two unique masses per week. On a Tuesday and a Friday, from sunrise to sunset. Tomorrow (Friday) I will celebrate the first mass on this schedule. [...]

A traveller weary of his travel sought to rest under a nut tree. As he relaxed he spotted a pumpkin on a thin vine. He felt that nature was sometimes disproportionate. "He thought, how foolish are the ways of nature. A small vine holds a pumpkin and a huge tree as this holds nuts" He further muttered, "If I were to make the world, I would have done the reverse in a more organised way".

The traveller was thus thinking of nature's unorganised ways when suddenly a nut from the tree fell on his head with force. Startled as he looked up, the truth dawned on him that had it been the pumpkin instead of the nut, it could have certainly killed him. The truth humbled him as he apologized within for his arrogance.

Thus Nature is always at its best .

Now take a moment to reflect. When you leave us think of something you did today and apply this knowledge to it.

Go in tranquillity.

Orakio heard the Temple needed some cleaning up, and he was the Deacon after all -- he showed up early for mass, ready to clean, but didn't quite expect all the water! Nevertheless, he was here to help.

It was so good to see more people coming to help and things coming along. The help from deacon was Orakio was specially well received as it built character.

Live for something.

Do good, and leave behind you a monument of virtue that the storms of time can never destroy. Write your name in kindness, love, and mercy on the hearts of thousands you come in contact with year by year, and you will never be forgotten. Your name and your good deeds will shine as the stars of heaven.

Now take a moment to reflect. When you leave us think of something you did today and apply this knowledge to it.

If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don’t
If you like to win but think you can’t,
It’s almost a cinch you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost.
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow’s will
It’s all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are.
You’ve got to think high to rise.
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win the prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man.
But sooner or later, the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.
