Fishing Contest! Prizes!

Post by Treant »

Starting now and running until January 10 there is a fishing contest sponsored by Paz town hall. To enter you must donate one fish to the town hall of Paz and either post a story here or send it to Treant ingame. You may enter multiple times. The fish story can include anything you think interesting about how, when, where the fish was caught and the size, characteristics etc of the fish itself. Offensive entries will not be considered for prizes, but they will count towards the prize tally.

One prize will be awarded per ten entries. The categories will certainly include a grand prize and some kind of rp title, but also other categories: magical, non-magical, size, best humor, Paz citizen, non-Paz citizen etc, depending on the kinds of entries we have. Judging will be done by the town officials (johnstone, willow, treant) though if there are enough entries for a grand prize and other prizes, the best stories will be posted here and voted on by the citizens of Paz. Trophies will be made of gold.

Willow knew she couldn't compete (since she was one of the town officials) but it sounded fun :D .

Grabbing her fishing line, Willow and Max (her dog) headed to the lake to do a bit of fishing to help her town out. Arriving at the lake, she lay down a blanket and placed some snacks nearby and then settled down to do some fishing. Max watched for a bit but got bored and decided to wander off.

The lake was quiet and Willow started daydreaming, no fish were biting and she was starting to wonder where the fish were hiding.

All of a sudden, Willow heard barking and she turned to look towards the noise. She couldn't see anything, until she saw a small animal and Max running straight for her. Willow jumped up calling out Max stop. The small animal turned away just before Willow but Max didn't follow it and ran straight into Willow; who ended up in the lake.

Standing up dripping wet, Willow laughed and pulled a fish out of the top of her shirt.

Max wanted to help his friend Treant.

So he walked around the lake until he spotted some fish.

Leaning over, he used a paw and tried to catch a fish. He caught one, the fish went flying and a bird caught it and flew away with it - nuts

Trying again, he caught another one but this time he caught it in his mouth and the bird missed out. He trotted off to give his prize to Treant.

Treant is excited to now have two entries in his fishing contest. He puts the fish away for safe keeping and records the entries:

Balerion was having trouble making it to Paz due to a wretched snowstorm. He wanted to enter the contest but knew that it was probably too late. Still the snow continued blinding him so he could hardly see. Suddenly a frozen fish smacked him in the face. He knew the storm had been bad but it would have taken hurricane winds to bring the thing this far. Feeling a bit lucky he continued pressing on trying to reach Paz fighting to keep his hope alive. Onward he pushed and onward he went always dragging the fish behind him. Without realizing it the fish was growing larger by the minute with the snow turning to freezing rain and coating it ever thicker with ice. After pressing further still he could see lights in the distance. He knew he could make it, he just had to!

After announcing the winner, Treant took advantage of the fact he had an assembled crowd and began lecturing on fire safety and the evils of chopping down healthy trees.
