The 5F stone (and also iron) come in occasionally from Davi.Constance_de_Vere wrote:Where do you get the price of stone being 5? It hasn't been that low before. Right now it's 6.10 and I haven't payed lower than 6 for stone. It doesn't change the price of axes much, but I don't know that 7 for stone is realistic unless the town is pocketing the difference from the VR sale?
I buy it for sometimes as low as 2.55; donate half to TH and sell the other half to it at 5 to break even.
That is the stone I usually don't post to the market, but keep in the inventory for wall/tower/hall repairs (Though I can send you and arch some via the army if you want). This let's me budget the maintenance lower and offer the 7F repair wage rather than 5, the difference comes from using the underpriced stone.
For the general market, the town buys stone from the VR for 6F (and iron for 7).
ATM, we only post it for +.05/.10 at almost no profit (on account of running in the positive already without need to).
In the past (couple-ish of years ago) TH would charge a 1-3F markup (i.e. we bought it at 10F and sold it for up to 13F) back when the economy was that way. If TH looses the export stream of for example Fried Chicken Legs (currently a potential yield of up to 1F profit per leg) and this (among the cumulative other things) result in our running in the negative; one area to try and make up the difference with would be a +~1F markup on ores.
This also applies to wood. ATM, TH retails wood at little to no profit.
Aida and I, and I think also Aniel and Nocturn, have been posting wood for about the same price as we have been buying it for to try and keep it at 6F flat. Sometimes we buy it in for slightly more, up to 6.20 or 6.25, but absorb the cost using other profits and donations, or average it with some 5F wood that are brought in from a peasant town to post it for 6.00. If TH were to loose it's export profits due to our goods prices suddenly being the same as Bravia's, we wouldn't be able to fudge down the price of imported wood. The price of wood in Bravia has sometimes reached even 10F, but ours would need to be at least 6.50 to 7F to keep being able to buy more from imperius and the VR, and for wood profits to take over some of the expenses currently covered by sales and export profits.
