Peasants Requests

[Zachrin]

A group of peasant arrive at town hall hot, sweating, and wielding wheat forks. They seem very upset about the heat and the stillness of the air. They seem to call out for action.

"Mayor, we need money to deal with this crisis. How much will you give us to help us or shall we be ignored?"

[OOC: This is an RP event for mayors and others to interact with. Mayors will have until March 31st end of day before reset to give an answer. The money will be taken from town hall and the response of the peasants posted here and in the TH event log]

[Aingeal]

Aingeal was sitting in the town hall sweltering. Lifting her heavy braid off her next she pressed a cold cloth in hopes of cooling down. She was almost sure Anessen would be fully comfortable in this heat, considering he had volcanoes where he was from. This heat was rivaling that that was in Sprius when the volcano was starting to errupt.

Rania came to the door. Miss Mayor? she said. Aingeal frowned. Rania don't call me that silly girl, she said shaking her head. There is a mass of peasants outside, I think they want to talk to you.

Aingeal looked out the window. There was a mass of people. Okay I will go talk to them. Aingeal got up and went to the door. What can I do for you all?

She heard the peasants say "Mayor, we need money to deal with this crisis. How much will you give us to help us or shall we be ignored?"

Let me talk to the King and I will get back to you within the day! A few of the peasants nodded and Aingeal stepped back inside to pen a quick note to the King.

[Zachrin]

The mob seems to grow a bit waiting for an answer. Several voices were heard:

"Is she just ignoring us?"

"Why can't she do it?"

"Wait... she's going to do something awesome"

"You fool, it's just a way to hide"

"Our Mayor and King wouldn't do that"

[Aingeal]

The word in the Castle was the King was going on a Quest... but the way the peasants were acting, that might not be quick enough. While it seemed the King didn't want to hand out money, there was nothing against Aingeal using her own bits to try to appease the peasants. She had heard what happened in Widu when the peasants were fed up with the mayor, and she didn't want to end up the same. If she lost the town Zuan would be even more mad than her giving away money.

Aingeal went to address the peasants. Citizens of Fenia City! I have talked to the king and he is going on a quest to find this Warlock of Weather that is supposedly causing us this strife. Aingeal heard the peasants start to grumble and she raised her hand. The king has also reduced the hat tax, and I will further help personally. I will offer two barrels of Orange Juice to start, along with a thousand freznics to tide us over until we hear word of the quest. Aingeal didn't hear many complaints, and she thought that was good.

Let us all toast the King good fortune on his journey. Aingeal turned to some of the other professional citizens. If there is anything you would like to donate to this cause... please step forward!

Aingeal smiled when Rania told her of a recent donation for the peasants. She made a record of it.

[Archadeas]

*From the ground, a black seeping darkness raises into the sky, blanketing a small area, Archadeas descends from the pitch in a form fitting the void he crawled from, clad in armor of black steel and scorched bone, skin blacker then the night sky, cloaked in black flames, a crackling red energy can be seen around him, the whisper of low echoing screams can be hear around him*

*He opens a black tome, bound in bones and chains of black steel and begins writing in it, once finished he raises his head, observing the situation, his piercing red right eye sweeps across the crowds, he then speaks to the masses, in a low tone, like the choir of a thousand disembodied souls, his voice is carried to all*

Rest easy, people of Fenia, for we are doing what we can to enrich our lands, to bring peace to our people, and to defend it from all those who dare threaten it. Trust in the land and its people for we stand united, unwavering, and determined to make our Fenia more brilliant then any jewels or gold.

*After so few words spoken, he returns to observe the crowds and continues to write in his tome*
