As the colours changed in the sky, bleeding into each other with such bright, natural beauty, Serendipity knew she best head back to the house. She wasn't one to be out after the sun set -- only trouble came with being out at night. She shifted the basket of herbs and fresh vegetables as her eyes swept over some of the tea mixtures. She was looking for a particular blend she was fond of: strawberries and vanilla. The enthusiasm Bravia City had for their strawberries clearly showed in their market, but luckily for her, she fancied strawberries. She spotted a jar in the back of the cluster labeled accordingly and quickly paid for it, then headed back towards the apartment.
Walking along, the redhead recalled the events of the last year regretfully. She knew things had been hard on Aishe. But the hardest part was Akos' reappearance. Not only did that bring new pain to her charge's eyes, it brought a dangerous, obsessive determination. Aishe was a very passionate person, particularly when it came to Akos. She always had been.
Serendipity heaved a light sigh as she absently adjusted some jars, mindful not to bump into any passerby. This was one of the longest periods of time she had seen them without each other after having 'awoken'. They usually died close together, if not at the same time. At each others' hands, or their own... Or Sethos'.
She shivered, his face revealing itself in her mind's eye. It was hard to believe that that horrible, distorted, wrinkled face had once been the man she loved so dearly.
Her foot froze midstep as dreadful memories flooded her mind. It started with his laugh, that enchanted dagger glistening in the candlelight... The view of the cave. The mountain, a path...
Serendipity gasped loudly and lurched forward, sprinting the rest of the way home. She clung to the images in her mind desperately in an attempt not to forget. Not again. The bakery and apartment came into sight and up the stairs she flew. She flung the door open, practically throwing the basket onto the family room floor as her lungs grasped for air.
I... Know... Where... Akos... Is!
Her voice was loud, words rushed and broken by pants. It was only after she finished her exclamation that she came to realize there was a strange woman standing in their home. Her eyebrows shot upwards in question, looking at Aishe. Yet, she didn't say a word, for there was a much more important matter at hand. If Aishe wanted to have strange women over, that could be dealt with another day.
Without saying another word, Serendipity hastily made her way down the hall and into the second door on the left -- her bedroom. There, she stopped in front of the map, brown eyes searching over the lines on the map. Mumbling to herself, she studied the landscape. After a moment, she rose her hand and pressed her fingertip to the rough parchment.
There.

Re: [CRP] Beyond Grace
Aishe instinctively took a step back as the woman rose, still on edge. She couldn't help it, she was always on edge nowadays. Always so paranoid, always looking out for threats and dangers. It wasn't just herself she had to protect now, it was her daughter. She couldn't help but think of what could've happened to Aileigh had Aishe not been home when Akos and Soka switched... Shuddering, she opened her mouth to speak when the door flew opened, an almost-frazzled looking Serendipity standing there. Her words brought confusion, but hope instantly flared inside her chest. Entirely forgetting her current conversation, she was quick to follow her protector. Soka was poking her head out of her bedroom as they passed, clearly having overheard Serendipity commotion.
What's going on? She murmured, keeping Aileigh in the room by blocking the door with her body.
Serendipity said she knows where Akos is.
That was enough. Soka came out of the room and Aishe picked up Aileigh before following them into Serendipity's bedroom. Even her sensitive hearing couldn't pick out the woman's muttering, but all she needed to know was where her finger pointed to in the end.
She stepped closer to look at the hidden spot that her lover had been held in for over a year. The mountains could be a dangerous place and was certainly a good place to hide. She looked first at Serendipity, then at Soka, seeing the hope in both of their eyes as well. Then she looked at Scarlet, who had trailed along.
My fiancee was taken over a year ago by an evil man who's been hunting us down for centuries. We thought her dead until recently... She looked back to the map, gingering touching the spot Serendipity's finger was moments ago. But we can still save her.
I hope...

Re: [CRP] Beyond Grace
It was as if people were coming out of the wood work. A woman burst in from the street and there was another woman and child in the back. This was an odd gang as far as Scarlet could tell. Half a wonder if Aishe needed her help at all, oh the fates could be a fickle bunch. Letting them all talk Scarlet stayed to the back and let them watch the woman, Serendipity she thought she heard, mutter and point to a destination on a map.
Half raising an eyebrow she looked at the map. "That is a dangerous trip ...." The words were half muttered with awe at the talent of finding someone that out stretched her abilities. Maybe she was needed to knowledge of the terrain and protection. With an unconscious thought she pulled her cloak closer. "The area is plagued with many things ...." She stopped what she was saying as to not frighten the child too much. "Should be an interesting trip."

OOC: Done?! Never. *jumpstarts*
Following Day: January 3rd, 1652
Aishe moved across the room as silent as she could, not wanting to wake the sleeping child in the bed. Taking the pile of clothing off the chair, she pushed them into a pack, attempting to fit in as much as possible. She wasn't sure how long the trip would take or when it would be safe for Aileigh to be with them again, so she wanted her daughter to have as much as possible. She clasped the pack shut and sat it beside the door, and after a glance over at the sleeping girl, she slipped out of the room. The house was quiet, but she shut the door behind her as Aileigh's hearing as above average. There was no need to wake her sooner than necessary.
Sighing, she paused at Serendipity's room to study the map once again. She had tried to get some rest, yet sleep evaded her. All she could think was they had Akos' location. They were going to finally save her. She had spent a good portion of the night holding her sleeping daughter, enjoying the quiet moment, for a seed of fear had taken root. Sethos was a dangerous man. Aishe was not leaving without Akos, she had already made the decision, but she knew Sethos wouldn't let her fiancé go easily. She wasn't even sure if the twisted version of Akos would even willingly come with them. A fight was unavoidable and it would surely be a nasty one. One she couldn't be sure she would return from.
She pursed her lips and left the room, heading towards the kitchen where Serendipity and Soka were. They were both dressed for travel already, their own bags on the table as they sipped tea. Aishe's eyes darted towards the window, a morning glow starting to lighten the street and sky. Soon enough, the sun would rise and they would leave. Scarlet was meant to come back at first light, as she was going to help them in the rescue. Aishe had tried to explain how dangerous Sethos was, she tried to differ the woman from possible death, but it had quickly became clear Scarlet wasn't going to let them go without her. It was a comforting thought, for some reason, to have Scarlet with her though.
Soon... Aishe murmured, eyes going back to her friends. Serendipity offered a smile, a gesture of hope that Aishe attempted to return, yet the nerves in her stomach kept a real smile from her lips.
Ves'tacha.. She said softly, giving Aileigh a gentle shake. The girl's blue eyes fluttered open, dazed with sleep for a moment as she remembered last night. A smile spread across her lips as she sat up, nuzzling into Aishe. Aishe had told her that her other mother would be coming home with them, an idea that really seemed to excite the young girl. She only hoped she would be able to upkeep her word. Brushing her fingers along Aileigh's black curls, Aishe murmured, We leave soon. Let's get you dressed and some breakfast.
Aileigh slipped out of her mother's arms, Aishe reluctantly letting her go. She watched her move towards the clothes laid out on the chair. Aileigh was so young and full of so much life... It was a strange, terrifying thought that she may not see her daughter again. Attempting to keep the tears from her eyes, Aishe stood up to get dressed herself.
