Coming so Far, Even further to Go (ORP)

Post by Amnestria »

The day had grown into the late night as Amnestria sat in her office going over document after document. There was much to be done, not only for the city, but for the entire kingdom of Fenia. As the fire grew dim, she stopped and threw some more wood onto it. She smiled warmly and made her way over to the window. She had come to a good resting spot, and her sight had grown a bit blurry.

Looking out on the city of Fenia, she grinned as she remembered just how far she had come. Amnestria had started out in Paz, Bravia after she had traveled long and far from what she had once called home. Spending her days out on the lake fishing, she had grown bored and needed something more to do, so she had become People’s Representative, and then everything seemed to change rather quickly.

Amnestria could not help but grin even more as she leans against the wall of her little office, looking at her desk that was scattered with papers and books. Though she looked at her desk, her mind was years away.

In her free time, she spent it within the Mysts. She had come to make many friends and became close to King Zuan and Queen Aishe. Bravia was a wonderful place, and though she loved it, she was not really all that happy there. The market seemed very bare, and she did not like having to bother people for what she needed. Upon many talks with King Zuan, Amnestria made the decision to move to Fenia. It was the best move she had made. She was Lady in waiting to Queen Aishe, Research Herald, and just recently Mayor of Fenia City. She had moved forward rather quickly, and very much enjoyed it. The more work she had to do, the better life seemed to be, and she owed it all to the King and Queen. Without them she would still be fishing out on the lake of Paz.

Amnestria chuckled and made her way back to her desk, cleaning up her papers and restacking her books. She sat down, watching the fire burn, giving off a warm glow. Everything she was now she had never once dreamed of. She looked back out the window and sighed softly. Whoever her parents were and wherever they were, she hoped that she had made them proud.

Time had seem to go by so fast. There had been so much going on. The battle with the snow creatures, and their leader, and then there was all that, that just happened with Widu. Amnestria had been keeping very busy. Now she could relax for a moment and take a small break from everything. She could even allow her mind to wander, but there was not much to wander on.

Amnestria sat back in her seat and looked out her window, remembering last night in the tavern. Everything was so very strange. A familiar presence had been there and she couldn't recall who it was. He revealed himself and showed her that they had met before, but her memory of him was completely blank. They talked, argued, and seemingly made up. Amnestria even came to the conclusion that she needed to regain her memories, and the only one she could think of was Varann.

Quickly, Amnestria stood up and grabbed her cloak, heading out to the Mysts, hoping she would run into Varann. The quicker she got her memories back, the better.
*~*
Upon entering the tavern, Amnestria smiled seeing Varann there. She was in luck! Quickly she took her seat next to xer, and after a few moments of conversation about how xie was doing, and the battle in Widu, she made her request. A huge relief fell over her as xie agreed to help her. It was not long before she was guided to a chair made of shadows, and Varann directed her to remember the day of the battle with the snow creatures. It did not take long, as she still thought of that day, and tried imagining different ways of not getting attacked.

It was the field, Amnestria was curled around Aishe and Zuan, waiting for Aishe to load him up, as she blew fire at those that dared come close, but the creatures were close on her back and attacking. Soon the images switched and she could see the true first time meeting Venn. A raven appeared and she was directed to follow it. Doing as she was asked, she chased after the bird and the image of Venn. A few moments later, the bird landed on the image of Venn. Amnestria reached out and picked up the raven, bringing it closer as every memory of her and Venn flooded her mind. Tears streamed down her face as the final memory finished playing.

Varann held her for a moment, comforting her, before retiring for the night. Amnestria sat on the couch, trying to regain herself as she processed the memories. How could she have forgotten them?
