A new experience...

Post by TwoB » Wed Feb 12, 2020 9:51 pm

Parchment sprawled over the desk of TwoB. Looking over the different requestst that came over her desk, she looked at the amount of wax left on the candle. She softly blew the candle out and thought about the task ahead. This was something she had never done before, but there were a lot of new experiences in the last year.

She knew that she needed to change up her outfit. She had read parchments about the upcoming experience. Slipping into a red dress, she patted it down and picked up an address. TwoB had never been a valentine before. She didn't even know what all that would entail, but only one way to find out.

She headed to an address - 100 Main Street and saw a Metal Golem and Shed outside. Walking up to the door, she knocked hoping to see someone answer.

Marshal finds himself standing in front of his closet with the doors wide open, looking over his clothing. He finds the best looking vest he has and puts it on, accompanied by a pair of pants he bought to attend a wedding once. Getting dressed he thinks to himself "Well, I hope things go smooth, I want to make sure she has a great time...where shall we go?"

This thought sits with him for a second, as he puts his long hair into a neat ponytail. He almost felt like he was dressing up for combat again, yet this seemed so much harder for some reason. After a few minutes of getting ready, he finally is prepared to meet his Valentine. Stepping into the living room, he patiently awaits the arrival of the young lady.

A knock on the door....Marshal quickly darts to it, almost tripping over himself then stops before he opens it. Composing himself first, patting down his vest and taking a second to make sure he looked alright again.

Placing his hand on the door handle, he opens it to be greeted by a lovely young lady in a red dress.

With a smile across his lips, he looks at her I see you found it here alright. You look absolutely stunning in your dress. as he reaches out his hand to take hers. Won't you come inside?

TwoB sits there patiently at the door. It seemed like time was moving slower. She had operated town hall for many, many months watching time fly by. Surely that was a bigger challenge than this solo mission. Wasn't it? Her thoughts were interrupted by the door opening. She smiled at him, "I did. Having the town addresses on file of everyone helped." She takes his hand and starts to come inside.

"I would be happy to come inside. I can't say I've been to a lot of different houses. Yours looks very unique compared to what I've seen in my time. Did you design it yourself," she asked.

Hearing the compliment on her dress, she smiled a little brighter. "I wasn't sure if this was the right dress for the evening, but I thought I would try it. I have a weaver special make it for today. A perk of being mayor," she said. She continued to look around at the house curious at every little thing she saw.

As he closes the door behind her he listens intently to her compliments on his home. This is actually my second "home" if you want to call it that within the city. I still prefer to stay in my hollowed-out tree on the outside of town. This here is just a quaint, humble place to stay. he says as he walks over toward the table and picks up a single rose that had been gently sitting on it.

As he turned around, she could just see that the rose shifted its colors to match the exact pigment of her dress. It indeed seems to be a blessing, and a curse to be the mayor. Though someone here must do it. He extended the rose toward her with a smile. This is for you, my lovely valentine. he hands over the most beautiful luscious rose she could have ever possibly laid her eyes on.

So, I figured maybe we could start off our day walking through the Orchard in town, and then we could find a suitable place for lunch if that is alright with you Mayoress? After handing her the rose, he extends his hand to her free hand. May I? he asks her, hoping she was ok with him taking her hand in his.

TwoB listens carefully. "You have a second home... do you share between the two places? Do you find the nature in the tree very comforting? Ever sing with the birds? Sorry if I ask so many questions. I often am very curious about new things," she stated. Seeing the rose, she examined it carefully and smiled. "It is very beautiful. I have been collecting roses and love unique things. How did you find it," she asked.

At the suggestion of walking in the Orchard, she nodded and said, "this sounds like a good idea. I would very much enjoy a walk with you. There might even be a leftover crate or two for us to site on if you'd like." She enjoyed his hand holding. It was a unique sensation and one that she wanted to study for a bit. She motioned for him to lead and she was ready to go wherever he would take her.

The orchard would be just coming from it's winter refresh and should be producing very yummy treats. She had been there a few times, but only working. She had never thought of the place as somewhere to go with someone. Then again, when it's your first time on a date, you really never know what to expect. It was almost an intoxicating experience trying something new.

As he took her hand and led her out the door in the direction of the Orchard, he felt the sun hit his skin, and the tingle of the warmth sent a sudden ripple of goosebumps up his arm. Quickly they bump away as he continues to hold her hand and walks toward the Orchard.

Yes, this is only my second home. I built the one in the big tree many years ago. As an elf, living in nature is....well...more comfortable than living inside brick walls. He looks off into the distance as he answers her, and then back at her.

That rose actually came from my garden. I have many, but this one I picked special for you. As per the birds, they spend a lot of time near my home, though I do not sing with them. I just enjoy it when I can. he said with a smile as he looked her in the eye.

So, I don't think I have ever seen you running around in such a beautiful dress. Normally I see you running around Town Hall, and the Castle often but never like this. I do hope that it was worth your time to put it on just for our little date.

As he leads her hand in hand to the Orchard, the blossoms on the trees have already opened, being ready to soon bare fruit on them. he then realized he hasn't ever spent much time here. Mostly just watched others work here, as he tended to his own fields. Watching as the adult, and older children would pick fruits and berries, while the little kids ran around and snuck a snack or two from the baskets.

Hmmm. the sound comes from the back of his throat as he let his mind wander.

If I may be sold bold, my valentine, I'd love to learn more about you. It seems you studied up about me before you got here!
a slight grin crossed his lips, looking at her again.

The warmth of the sun came across TwoB. There was something pleasant about the feeling. It could have been the company or the actual sun, she was not sure. She enjoyed the tactile feeling of her hand in his. Listening to his tale of the one in the tree, she felt a wave of curiosity. "I have met a few elves in my awake time. Although I learned they were quite different in nature. Nature is an interesting thing. Watching the different pieces of the machine work. A delicate balance at times. I sometimes wish I knew about my younger life. I only remember living in a house," she commented.

"I like to learn about everything and every one I can. I have studied you as you are intriguing to me, but alas there are things I still don't know. But I can try to tell you more about myself. I don't remember having any parental units like many creatures I have met since my awareness, but I don't remember much before the fire. That's my first memory," she said her gaze starting to get a bit distant. The warmth of the fire lapped at her. Inside the house, she sat. Flames all around her. The heat... very much warmer than this day. In her memory, she sat there on the floor as the embers crackled. The vision faded a little and she returned to the Orchard.

"I have never worn such a dress and the feeling of it is... unique. But the fact that you like it also makes it worth it. I'm used to more official clothing. If you'd like, maybe I can wear it again for you sometime, " she said with a smile coming across her face. Seeing a child steal a snack, she said nothing, but noted it. There was a lot of different thougths on what was right or wrong. Morality was such an interesting topic.

"I like to think I'm an open book. What do you want to know about me," she asked smelling the fresh air.

Marshal listens closely as they sit and watch the towns-folk gather fruits from the Orchard. He listens as she explains her past. It sounded horrible, so he made a mental note not to bring it up unless she wishes to speak of it.

"We elves can be a strange folk indeed. Many of us live entirely different lives from each other. I suppose it just depends on how one grows up. I tend to enjoy living close to civilization, but of course, not to close. That explains my home in a tree."

He watches her as she watches the people around them, going about their daily routines. He catches a glance at the face she made, then looked to see a child taking fruit from a basket and placing it in his pocket. A small grin crossed his lips as she suddenly spoke.

You can wear a dress whenever you like my dear. No one here in town would be upset if you did. They're not just for special occasions unless every day for you is a special occasion!

He listens again to her as she mentions she is an open book.

Hmmm he says....What do you like to do for fun? Other than sitting here in a red dress, watching children take fruit? he says with a grin.

TwoB pats down the dress a little. "Strange... In my position there isn't a lot of things that I would consider strange. Differences I see a lot. It makes life interesting. Growing up we all see things differently I think. A home in a tree makes sense. The birds do it and they seem to find it very comfortable. Do birds live in the same trees or is their joint habitation," she asked with curiosity.

She smiles at the dress comment. "Thank you for the compliment. I have never considered it something that would be normal. Do you think a lot of mayors wear dresses? I feel special around you," she says and pauses for a minute to see the reaction.

"Fun... I like learning a lot. Seeing different things, trying new things, tasting new things. What do you do for fun?"
