Napier as he referred to himself in some occasions was now flying in his beast form as a bat.
This was the most appropriate way in this gathering as he needed to be fast and unbothered.

His sole objective was to find his pumpkin and to check if everything was in order.
He learned everything about her life and feelings so he was careful.

Some would say overprotective but he felt like he had to make up for all the time he was absent.
No one could really blame him as no one knew that he was still around but every new bad information he gathered was a new scar for him.

He found the bride quickly and landed on her shoulder and came close to her ear to whisper something to her.

"My lovely pumpkin are you ok? Is anything not to your liking? Did someone do anything to hurt you?", he looked around them and observed the scenery.
He closed even closer and whispered very slowly, "One word from you and all of this is going to end in a bloodbath!
It's been ages since I've done something like that. I get the chills just to remember..umm."

The bride was silent and seemed really focused so Napier decided to keep his opinions to himself and to remain as an ornament on her shoulder in case
she decides to give him the ok to have his way.

He knew that chance was slim but drama was in his nature. Her happiness was the most important thing in that moment for him.
One way or another.

Grandfather walks over to Tyris and Rosalie with a pair of crystal goblets and small wine decanters as well as two small candles and flint boxes to hand off with instructions to give them to their respective members when the ceremony gets to the part where these items are mentioned; as well as to confirm they each have the rings to be handed in at the appropriate time as well.

"Shouldn't be long now."
He says in a gravelly voice.

"Pleasure to meet you by the way."
he says to Tyris
and to Rosalie
"and my how you've grown. Last I saw, you were Karina's age."

Nikola escorted the bride down from her room, thankfully. It was uncertain how long she would have delayed with her nerves churning in her stomach. Having a friend to provide support helped immensely. She let out a nervous chuckle as Nikki offered her one last chance to escape. "I'm good, I promise." Ella gave Nikola one last squeeze with her hand before her friend departed leaving her at the end of the aisle alone, but not for long.

A moment later, a bat descended on her and landed on her shoulder. If she didn't know better, she would have swatted at the creature. The bat wasn't truly a bat but instead was her great-grandfather.
"Gramps," she mumbled under her breath as she made her way down the aisle with a bat on her shoulder. She was glad for the support, even if she likely looked incredibly odd all decked out with a black bat on her shoulder. "I'm fine, I'm fine. I promise. No need to cause a commotion or spill blood on my wedding." When she reached the end of the aisle she let her fingers graze over his wings before she spoke again. "Go sit and behave, please? I'm good. I swear."

When Napier had removed himself from his perch her eyes turned to the altar. She took another step forward and she was in front of her soon-to-be-husband. She felt her heart pounding in her chest. "Fancy seeing you here," she whispered. Her eyes then shifted in focus to Duke's entourage so they knew she was ready to proceed.

It was time. The King and his bride were ready.

Duke points his head at Karina who cracks her knuckles with a smile and a look of determnation as Sofie places a hand on her shoulder and Grandfathers while also gazing at Duke.

For this very special occasion, Duke has decided to do something never before done in all ten years of his time in this realm so that he could perform this very special ceremony himself for his friends the King and Ella.

Duke begins to shift as though to take on his astral form, but then increases in mass as like the liger, finally changing his proportions into something unfamiliar to himself, but familiar to most others, then resolidifies into a brand new shape.

Image

Standing behind the podium, Duke proceeds to recite, in a mildly Irish accent, the ceremonial words:

"King Zuan Winterbourne and Dutchess Ella Blackwood:
Today we are gathered here to celebrate the love you have discovered in each other and support the commitment you are about to make.
Marriage is more than two people standing here and repeating vows. There is an entire lifetime ahead of you and there are skills to be learned and practiced daily.

Part of marriage is finding happiness. Continue to search for the good, the fun, and the beautiful in this life to share with each other.
Part of marriage is being flexible. So, within your marriage cultivate flexibility, patience, and understanding, all while maintaining a sense of humor and joy.
Part of marriage is companionship. Strive to comfort one another and develop the capacity to forgive and heal your differences day by day.

Remember that your love can always prevail in times of turmoil.
It will drive you to not only learn and to grow as individuals, but become stronger partners together.

Today, as you join yourselves in marriage, there is a vast and unknown future stretching out before you.
Today you enter as individuals, but you will leave here as husband and wife; your lives blending together and expanding the ties of your family and friends.

You are embarking upon a great adventure together that will last a lifetimel.
So if you are ready to make this official:

Please take each others right hand in your own; 'the hand you will use to lift each others sorrows.'

-

Duke looks to the Best Man and the Maid of Honour.

"
"Put the canlde inside their joined hands, if you please, so that they are both grasping it together; and place the decanter and wine goblets on the podium before them."

"Your Majesty, you are going to fill her Grace's goblet about two thirds the way with your left hand, and your Grace shall fill his Majesty's goblet; then take your partners goblet and hold it up to them to sip from. Thus shall you ever fill each other's lives with the sweet fruit of your love; nevermore to wane. Afterward, light the candle together which represents the guidance you shall offer each other when should dark times come."

-

Duke will wait for it all to be done, then continue with:
Duke looks to the Best Man and the Maid of Honour again.

""Please take their goblets to set aside, then hand them the rings."

King Zuan Winterbourne:
Do you take Dutchess Ella Blackwood to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward; for better and for worse, for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do you part?”

waits for Zuan to answer and place his ring on Ella's finger.

"Dutchess Ella Blackwood:
Do you take King Zuan Winterbourne to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward; for better and for worse, for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do you part?”

waits for Ella to answer and place her ring on Zuans finger.

"Then, by the power invested in me by you yourself, I hereby pronounce you Husband and Wife. You may now kiss the bride.

-

Duke will wait the appropriate length of moments for everyone to start cheering the new couple; then will return to his true form of a normal cat.

Zuan Winterbourne remained at the altar allowing all other things to pass him by, for his mind was entirely focused upon the upcoming marriage. It was likely only minutes away, depending on how long it took Ella to descend from the upper floors and join them in the hall. He supposed it was a rather nerve-wracking thing for her. Given all that she had gone through in previous relationships to finally end up at this point, beside the King, as his wife. So he could easily understand any nerves which might cause her to stall, while he looked all the fool stood alone at the altar for a time.

Eventually his bride made her way down the stairs and into the great hall. The King did not see her at first, for he wished to savour the moment and so kept his gaze forward. Allowing the guests to focus on the beauty of the bride as she made her way up the aisle. As such he did not notice the perched bat who Ella whispered too as she made her way up to the grand altar. Then finally, as she reached him he turned his gaze to see her for the first time. She was truly radiant, in her wedding dress, and with a glow about her he had never seen before. It was clear enough in her eyes to know how she was feeling in this moment, even as she whispered in his direction. He offered her the smallest of smirks, his usual response to most of her witty comments. ”Indeed, strange how we always meet at the most random of times.” He replied, his lips remained in a smile, unable to shake it for the positivity he felt for having Ella by his side.

What happened next, the King could not ever be certain of, but he was sure it was ever the marvel. As he watched his close and old friend, Duke, manifest himself from his usual feline form and into an almost human like state. It was indeed a strange one, but a welcome one, to have his friend be the one to officiate the ceremony and guide he and Ella into a new life as one. He bowed his head to his friend as Duke took his place behind the podium and began to speak. Full of respect for this gesture that their friend had provided for them.

The King listened intently as Duke began to recite some poignant words about marriage and indeed their relationship which had gone through many highs and lows even in the last year. Yet it was a fitting reminder for them both, that they had come together as one and through their marriage would leave stronger than they had entered. Duke, as always had words of wisdom to provide, and these words upon their wedding day were most welcome.

Doing as instructed, the King took Ella’s hand into his own so their hands were joined. Soon enough Rosalie was now doing as instructed, placing the candle into their hands – as well as the decanter and goblets upon the altar. Now, it was his turn to act – and so with his left hand he filled Ella’s goblet up to the required amount – before returning the decanter so Ella could do likewise with his goblet.

As they both raised up their goblets, and she drank from his, and he drank from hers, their eyes met. Her golden ones meeting his greyish blue eyes, while their goblets were at their lips, he was still grinning like a fool at her. It had been a long path to get to this point, but as he drank the sweet nectar from the wine goblet, and kept his gaze upon Ella’s golden irises, he knew he had made the right choice. Then as the goblets were returned to the podium, the pair worked together to light the candle. It was a bit foolish – some might say – to light it without magic. Given Ella was a fire mage who could light it without a second thought, but the purpose was to show unity and teamwork and indeed as Duke said – to guide one another in dark times when necessary.

With the candle lit and the wine drank the King turned his gaze back to Duke who continued on, now with their vows. Rosalie and Tyris stepped forward and handed the pair their rings. Once more the King turned his gaze back to Ella, as he held her wedding ring between his fingers. The band of gold, uniquely crafted and featuring various emblems both of Winterbourne and Blackwood was finished with a bold ruby, while the band itself would always emit warmth – which was ideal for a fire witch who so often felt the cold. With a grin upon his lips, and his eyes locked with her own, he spoke as required. ”I do.” and proceeded to slip the wedding band onto Ella’s finger, to signify their union.

Now the roles were reversed, and it was he who was granted a ring and he who listened to Ella affirm her vows and devotion to him and in the process become his wife. He watched her as she did this, admiring her in the candle light of the hall, and his eyes often darted back to her wedding band which now glistened upon her finger.

With both of their vows confirmed, and their devotion made clear. Duke announced them as husband and wife, and the King did as instructed. Leaning in he wrapped one arm around Ella’s waist and pulled her in for a kiss, deep yet soft, as he sealed their marriage with a kiss before their invited guests in the privacy of their North Fenshire manor. For with that, the deed was done, and Ella Blackwood was now Ella Winterbourne – his lawful and wedded wife.

Ella couldn't help but grin up at her love as he gave her his signature smirk and jested along with her. As her eyes returned to Duke, she was both astonished and amazed as he transformed from his familiar feline form to what was best described as a humanoid form but with many of the same cat features still very much present. When they had discussed Zuan's longtime friend and council Duke doing the ceremony, never had she imagined this particular outcome. She was delighted by it. To Ella, it was a true treat and honor that Duke had done this for them. She didn't have much time to dwell on the situation or say anything to that effect. Perhaps later she would say something privately, for now, there was something more important to focus on. It was, perhaps, the singularly most important thing of Ella Blackwood's life — marrying Zuan Winterbourne.

Humanoid-cat Duke took his place behind the podium and began the ceremony. He began with an eloquent speech on marriage and love and the future of their relationship together. The bride found the words touching and hoped she would be able to carry the sentiment with her throughout her marriage.

Next, the best man and maid-of-honor brought forward a candle and two goblets. They placed the wax candle in the couple's hands and clasped them together so that both had a firm hold on it. Still holding the candle together, King Zuan took the decanter and filled the goblet meant for Ella two-thirds of the way full before passing the decanter to Ella. She repeated the process, filling his goblet two-thirds of the way full. She then set aside the decanter and picked up the goblet, offering the drink to Zuan's lips as he did the same for her. She took a drink of the fruity alcoholic nectar, golden eyes locking with Zuan's greyish-blue ones. Her heart fluttered as she looked up at him, wanting not to look away but eventually doing so as she set down his goblet on the podium.

Next, they would light the candle together. Though she could have just lit the candle with a simple flick of her wrist or twitch of her nose, that would have defeated the entire purpose of this portion of the ceremony. Together, the King and Ella lit the candle together as a symbol of guiding each other through dark times.

After their goblets had been drunk and their candle lit, Rosalie and Tyris stepped forward again to remove the goblets and decanter and present them each with a ring for their spouse. Ella's daughter pressed the golden ring, encrusted with rubies and featuring two wolves — one larger and one smaller — entwining together at the base of a large blackwood tree. Zuan went first, sliding the ring into place on her finger. Ella immediately felt warmth spread through her body, and not just because she was about to marry the love of her life. When Zuan had said the much-anticipated words 'I do' it was Ella's turn. She slowly placed the ring onto his finger, her hand quivering as she did this before she uttered the same two simple yet heavily weighted words.
"I do."

All that was left was for Duke to pronounce them Husband and Wife which he did without any further ado.

Ella beamed up at her love, her now-husband as he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her in for a deep kiss to seal their union in front of their assembled guests.

Nikola watched the ceremony with intense interest. These were two of her best friends being wed together, after all. The King had been a friend long before Ella had presented herself into Nikola's life and in turn had become her dearest friend. That they had found love with one another filled her heart with much joy. As Zuan pulled Ella in for a kiss, Nikola could no longer contain her joy and rose to her feet to cheer the new couple. "Long live Zuan and Ella! Long live the Winterbournes!" she called out enthusiastically and applauded happily. She might have created a bit of a spectacle, but she hoped others would join her and share their joy as well.

It was an interesting ceremony for sure; full of symbolism and she had found herself paying very close attention to it. She nodded along as Duke spoke, his words full of wisdom. Lavinia loved the part with goblets and candle lighting.

As Ella and Zuan were, at last, pronounced wife and husband, she smiled brightly at them. Soon enough Lavinia rose from her seat and joined Nikola in congratulating the newlyweds. "Long live Zuan and Ella! Long live the Winterbournes!," she called out cheerfully and applauded merrily.

Raef had been sitting next to Nikola, now and again their legs touched due to proximity which sent a thrill up his spin and had been watching the cerimony with abject curiousity. There had not been any ritual Dueling or face punching or anything! How delightully new!

His eyes widened as the couple kissed...in public! He looked arpund but no one seemed scandalous so he attributed it to a culture norm. Definately not the same kind of wedding He was used to in the Vale but pleasantly surprising non the less!

He stood up and cheered with the crowed as his eyes shifted a moment and tendrils of power subtitle filtered through the area.

Suddenly greenery began to grow gently and beautifully flowers of all colours and scents filled the area, symbolizing new beginnings and the joys to follow a union of two beloved souls.

"Long live Zuan and Ella! Long live the Winterbournes!", he added his own voice as he lay his strong hand at the small of Nikkis back while offering her a warm smile with a twinkle in his eyes.

"Love is powerful, is it not?", he whispered to her gently.
