POV: Amelia

"Yes, I can make you a crown." Amelia smiled at her little sisters. "I'll make all us crowns and then we can play queens!"

'Queens', a favourite game for the young Romany-Fenian princesses. It was a game in which they all get to play a queen of their own nation, with their own princesses (dolls) and sometimes even knights if they felt like involving their brothers. Since Ambrose was hanging out with them this afternoon, they would have what they liked to call 'lord protector', who protected all of the queens, instead of one of them getting a knight and the others not.

Being the eldest girl from the royal marriage, Amelia was proving to be a natural leader. This would be a good trait for her throughout her life as she was Kusi Palla, the heir to the Boreens Durri Natsia. She was not Aishe's eldest daughter; in fact, Aishe had two daughters older than Amelia named Meira and Aileigh. However, Meira had not been raised Romany, growing up away from Aishe under the care of her father, Draven, and had little interest in their mother's culture. Aileigh, on the other hand, had once been Kusi Palla herself, but made the decision following Amelia's birth to pass the position to her. Aileigh would someday serve as Taibhsear of the Boreens Durri and advisor for Amelia instead of taking their mother's place as Kralisi, claiming that their people would better accept Amelia as their queen and that she would someday be a good queen for them.

For now though, she was simply four and a half year old girl. Perhaps she had a big destiny ahead of her, but presently, she was going to make flower crowns for herself and her three younger sisters. Maybe even a leaf one for their lord protector. The five children headed off towards the garden, as it had the best selection of flowers to pick. Their mother's obsession of flowers and gardens brought bright colours to the landscape at the Latchom Kan Villa, but majority of the flowers were in the cliff-side garden that bloomed year round thanks to a magical heat bubble during the colder months.

As they approached, Amelia saw the familiar black curls of their younger-turning-older sister. She wondered if Astra would be interested in playing too, but she honestly wasn't sure. The two sisters had vastly different interests and while they got along because Amelia got along with everyone, Astra was often what the adults called a loner. So, it was to her surprise that she saw Astra was not actually alone as they got closer. In fact, she had quite a large company before her - nearly all the Vale-Sanchari children. It was strange to think, but Amelia and her siblings were actually the aunts and uncles of the Vale-Sanchari children, even though Yara and Nox were actually older than them. This little detail did not damper their relationships though, proving them to be more like siblings or cousins than anything else.

"Uh, hi! What's going on?" Amelia asked, announcing their presence. Behind and beside her stood four of her siblings: twins Aileanóra and Ambrose, and twins Aingeal and Andreaa.

"Yara... love... does your dai know where your sisters and brothers are?" she asked already grabbing things, and wrapping her sari a little more tightly about here, she was fairly confident they were about to travel in one of her least favorite formats. "Come on, we'd better not leave Nox alone with them too long, and you can both tell me more about this tea party..." she held out her hand, forcing herself not to tighten up. She'd rarely traveled through the shadows and rarely was plenty often enough for her, it left her feeling as though her stomach were somewhere behind her, and possibly knotted up. How had she gotten volunteered for this?

But maybe Serendipity did need a party... she had been a bit off, like the child sickness was clinging. Maybe a tea party with her children would help, she reasoned with herself. Mentally she began plotting where they could get away with something so fun and then wondered if the culprits who'd become the masterminds of this had selected a venue. And maybe, just maybe Zipp's mother wouldn't kill her.

Yara gave her great-aunt a perplexed look as she questioned whether or not Dai knew where she had relocated her siblings. It felt like Aunt Mallory had missed the most important bits and details of her plan. She sighed rather dramatically and shook her head, “No, of course not! If she knew that would ruin the surprise, wouldn’t it?”

Thankfully, Mallory offered her hand so Yara could lead her back to her siblings without further questioning. They were already behind schedule (the otherwise nonexistent timetable that only existed in Yara’s head). Without any further ado, the young girl slipped back through the shadows effortlessly, this time pulling her unwitting assistant with her.

“I’m back!” Yara proclaimed as she reemerged from the shadows with Mallory in tow. “And I brought reinforcements.”

As she looked around at the disorganized gathering, she noted that some of her cousins had arrived. Some of the family was still missing, but they still had time to deal with that. She smiled excitedly and waved at Amelia and Astra, “Hi! You’re here to help too, right?”

Point of View: Nox Vale
The garden was very quickly filling as if the Mages were aiding in their plan to cheer their mother up. First, Astra showed up. Nox enjoyed Astra, who was oddly his aunt, but he paid no mind. He found it fascinating that she was growing up so fast and wondered what it was like. Astra did not have cool shadow abilities like he did, but she was pretty smart and quick-witted, which amused him often. While she was sort of the black sheep of the younger Sanchari-Kuhlash children, he saw her differently and she seemed to appreciate it.

"Hi Esmeralda!" There was a hint of relief in his voice to no longer be alone with all his younger siblings, who were getting restless. As he greeted his aunt, he realized Eydahl was, once again, making a run for it. He shadowed over to her, blocking her path out of the garden. With a gentle touch, he moved both of them back to the center of it and released her. Yes, he really should have gotten more chocolate. Valen and Juniper started crawling in opposite directions at that point, as if they planned to drive him crazy. "We are having a tea party for my dai! Will you join..."

He trailed as he picked up Juni, trying to usher Valen back with silly noises that usually got his attention. It was in this moment that their group doubled in size with the arrival of more of his aunts and an uncle. Wow, this was easy! Well, except for the herding of his siblings. "We are having a tea party for my dai and everyone is invited! We want to cheer her up."

His quick explanation was somewhat muffled as he shifted Juniper in his arms, but it was clear enough because a huge grin spread across Amelia's face. Aingeal stepped up to Valen and picked him up so he didn't make it too far, while Eydís went to Ambrose, who she seemed to favour amongst their
aunts and uncles. Nox wondered if it was because he was also a redhead, a trait nearly all the Vale-Sanchari children had, but it mattered not as it was occupying her in the moment.

And then shadows emerged from the ground and there stood his twin sister with their aunt. With relief, he exclaimed, "Oh, thank the Mages! I didn't bring chocolate and they are restless. Hi Bibio!" He flashed a grin to Mallory before looking at Yara. "Almost everyone is here! Now we just need... Stuffs. Like tea - I'm pretty sure we can't have a tea party without tea."
