[RP] Albright Strawberry Farm

An unassuming strawberry patch, with land spreading for acres and acres all around, had a sign, that said "Albright Strawberry Patch" in the area of Cork, a few miles outside the city of Bravia. In the well-maintained farmhouse there were brochures, showing the way the strawberries were grown. Then, at the bottom, there was an interesting note:

New broccoli fields hope to establish the Albright reputation for agricultural excellence with this most important Bravian crop. Please check on our samples in the Bravian market.

The Gardener steps off the wagon and sees a farm. She decides to come forward and see if anyone needed an extra hand.

On her way to the local pub Lady Cait passes by a fine looking patch of red juicy strawberries. Having just moved to Bravia she hasn't had a lot of time to buy food or find work. She looks around carefully for the owner of berries. Seeing no one, she liffts her skirt and claims the fence at the road.

Picking the first large red fruit she closes her eyes as she bites the juicy berry. "Mmmmmmm" she sighs as she savors the sweet taste of the summer berries. Cait didn't realizes how hungry she was. Picking several of the owners chop, she settled by a large tree and eat her fill. The sun was warm and the breeze soft. Soon Cait was dozing in the dappled shadows of the oak leaves above.

One of the older, and crustier, employees of the Albright Farms sees a woman picking fruit in the farm and runs over, shouting in a mix of Purian and English something about thieving and the need to sign up for the u-pick.

Cait woke abruptly to the harsh sound of a foreign tongue. She yawned lazily and looked at the elderly person smiling sweetly. "What can I say? I have never seen such large red berries and . . " She crooked her head just to the right as if listening intently. "They seemed to be calling to me. Can't you her it? Cait, Cait, Cait. . . . ."

A hooded figure hesitated by the farmhouse, noting the colorful exchange between an elderly farmer and a rather relaxed looking lady under a tree by the fence at the road. Taking the brief distraction as an opportunity, the cloaked figure slid into the farmhouse to pocket a couple brochures for herself. Easing back out, Rowena stepped lightly to the farm's main gate and slipped out down the road leading further out of the capital city of Bravia.

Although her make-shift hovel in a nearby glade had provided her adequate shelter since her recent arrival to the area, she had slowly amassed the funds required to secure a small plot of land of her own soon and needed the guidance the brochures offered to make some crucial decisions on her choice of crop. Hopefully soon she'd be able to return to consult with the Albright farmer with some of her own produce in hand... but not today. Her field had yet to be bought, her crops had yet to be sowed, and the busy gentlemen needling the picnicking lady seemed to have his hands full at the moment. She pledged to return later.
