{ORP} The Day After

Post by Fira »

Her wings spread, Fira circled lazily over the town, at this point not caring who saw her in her true form. It felt so good to be able to stretch the muscles that had been bound for so long by her human form. She worried what the inhabitants of her new home would think, but only slightly. She was fairly certain there would be many that would be scared of her. And that bothered her more than she liked to admit. It was why she had chosen to spend the majority of her life in her human form. She was rather sensitive about things such as that for one of her kind.

The gold of her scales were dulled by the ash from the volcanic eruption, and she banked to the left, in search of a lake or river in which to cleanse herself. Fira felt bad about the destruction of her previous home, but it was her policy to not interfere with natural disasters. She had assisted where she could in getting others out of the danger zone, but that was the extent of her meddling.

She spied a likely looking body of water and turned towards it. Her eyes grazed over the surrounding land in her habitual way, looking, searching, for anything that may be of concern. The heavy body settled silently beside the small lake. The massive wings stretched to their fullest once more before folding back in place. Swiveling her head on the long neck to glace around her for interlopers, and finding nothing, she smiled to herself and plunged into the water.

The sun came up over the trees just as her body broke the surface of the lake. The golden figure caught the liquid gold of the morning and intensified it. The lake now reflected not only the rays of the sun, but the blinding body of the Golden Dragon.

Sandra was fluttering around on her way to the mines to get a job for the day. "Maybe today I will be lucky and find another gem." she wonders out loud.

On her way to the mines she sees something sparkling in the sky. She hovers in the sky watching to see what is causing the sparkles. As the sparkling object gets closer, Sandra realizes that it is a dragon. "Wow! Look at that!" Sandra says to herself amazed at the beauty and size of the dragon.

She dove under the water one more time, rinsing the last of the ash from herself. The change took place as she pushed herself back towards the surface. This time it wasn't the dragon that appeared. It was the familiar form of a young girl, surely no more than 19 or 20 at most.

She let herself lay back on the sparkling wavelets her body had created, her waist length honey blonde hair floating in a halo around her. Flipping over to her stomach, she used strong stokes to pull herself towards the nearest bank. The sun struck her body as she emerged from the lake. A soft golden glow surrounded her as she lifted her face to the heavens, eyes closed, a beatific smile gracing the delicate features. As the glow subsided, she stood, fully clothed, and opened her eyes to gaze at the lands surrounding her.

A small sigh escaped Fira's lips as she began the trek that would lead her into the town of Bravia.

Sandra approaches the mine to work for the day and sees a beautiful lady getting out of the water.
Waving hello as she passed. She was walking out of town and a lady was walking towards town.
Remembering that she was mentor and it would probably expected that she would greet visitors to Bravia, Sandra stops, turns towards her, and says, "Hello! I am Sandra. Did you see the beautiful dragon that was flying a bit ago?" Sandra looks to the sky to see if she can find the dragon to show the lady.
