Cash, Death, and a New Home [CRP]

The merchant was happily chattering to his little ward. He was informing her they had reached Bravia - their destination. After a year on the road, they were finally in the place they were to be - the merchant's cart was loaded down with both little girl, and supplies he was transporting. The little girl had never talked much, he'd grown used to her silence.

But today, she whispered, "Monsieur, monsieur, the wheel is bouncing funny."

The merchant assured her that it was because of the streets - continuing on their way, at least until the wheel finally wiggled it's way off the wagon, and with a crash the entire wagon flipped. The merchant was trapped underneath the very front of the cart, the little girl was trapped underneath it. She was silent - probably cowering beneath some bags of grain or corn.

The people around stopped what they were doing, and some men started working to get the merchant out from underneath the wagon. He was mumbling weakly about the little girl - "Ta... Talia..." His words were a mere whisper - he was trying to get them to focus on the wagon, and getting the child out - but the men that were carrying him did not seem to want to listen to his soft spoken words.
