Hurricane Irma

Post by Zachrin » Thu Sep 07, 2017 1:05 am

As some of you may be aware, there is a major hurricane in the Atlantic Basin. The potential impact of Hurricane Irma could be catastrophic for some of our players located in the Southern US, particularly Florida depending upon its final path. We are keeping an eye on this and hope that those who may be affected have begun preparing if they have not yet already done so.

As a Florida native, this storm concerns me. While there is still a level of uncertainty of where it will land, there are a few different options that I know personally I have set in motion should I need it. There are a number of different events that have been cancelled or delayed already in Florida.

As far as the game goes, our server is located in Atlanta. It should be safe against the storm. However, if anything should change, we will attempt to update

There is one little catch on all of this. There is a potential that I and others in Florida (and/or Southern US) may also lose access to Secfenia due to the storm. If you need to pause your character either due to evacuation or taking care of family who is evacuating, please feel free to use the Settings > Away and select the Pause Your Character option.

As always, we hope that everyone stays safe and remember that Real life always comes first. If you lose access, we will hold your account for you. Even deleted accounts can often be added again. Take care of you and your family. We'll be eager to have you back when everything settles. Hopefully the storm will not affect any of our players or staff greatly. Best wishes to all!

Stay safe down there, and Jose is right behind big sis, so praying for everyone's safety. Evacuate if you are able and need to do so. I see lots of manadatory evacs already underway and issued.

The sentiment above is echoed.

Take care of yourselves, people.
Heads I win, tails you lose... sound fair?
Where do I get my power? Part of it's from knowing what it is to have none.

Thanks. It looks like we are going to get hit overnight tonight. It's already windy here in south GA.
