I do hope you are not feeding your collie every day. They only need to be fed once every 3 days to remain in good health. Otherwise, they get stuffed. That means 50F worth of food should last you 30 days rather than just 10.

If you milk cows every day their health will go down faster, and you need to feed them every day. Plus what happens if you feed them to milk them and no one takes the job? You have to account for that as well.
Cow fields are uber profitable... especially if people sell carcasses at the right price, like 20 f or so.

My principle is to feed animals if their health is at 92% or lower. Could go 90% or even 85% just as well, but I have enough fodder, so...
