Nodding slightly, she crouched next to him, her eyes fixed on the unnatural burn along his arm, murmuring absently, "Least I could do. " A thread of Spirit sunk into his flesh, and she inhaled sharply at the strange pain that emanated along the tenuous bond. His flesh felt strange, similar to other humans yet altogether foreign, and the wound along his arm was stranger still. Valerion's power had left a residue on it, vile and oily, clinging to Hephastion's flesh, trying to burrow deeper into his arm. She tried to keep a cringe from her eyes as she delved deeper into him, probing the make up of his tissues for a hint of how to help him.

Other than a tightening of her eyes, Wandress remained stock-still with her fingers hovering over Hephastion's skin for what seemed ages. With painstaking precision she cleansed the residue from it, arresting it from moving deeper into his flesh, and carefully tried reparing the edges of the burn, much like fixing the frayed edges of an ancient tapestry. Her frustration mounted as the threads slipped from her grasp as she tried to handle them, exhaustion settling in far faster than she had accounted for. With a low groan, she released her weave and sat heavily onto the ground, shaking her head sadly. "I did what I could," she sighed, sweeping her violet curls from her forehead, "I'm sorry, it wasn't much, not nearly enough."

As she takes his arm, his eyes open watching her concentrate. He had healed her wounds on a few occasions, most of them small flesh wounds, but watching her use her magic on him was going to be different to anything he had ever experienced. His skin begins to tingle at first, then the sensation deepens his breathing becoming shallow and sharp, he didnt need to but it was out of his control. Suddenly he felt like he had been plunged into an icey lake, his breath snatched from him, unsure where he was for a moment, her voice bring him back, she was apologising he looked at his arm, the burnt flesh was cleared and the deep pain was gone.

He shakes his head at her "Dont apologise for helping Wandress" looking at his arm the wound was already healing over, he gave her a soft smile "Well whatever you done it helped, now lets get you home, you need to rest" remembering the feeling he had felt earlier as everything around him calms from the nights rigours, he offers her a hand as he turns back towards the town, the outline of the buildings showing in the distance as his eyes shine again.

Nodding tiredly she accepted his hand with a sigh, letting him pull her to her feet; she wasn't sure she would be able to this time of her own volition. She leaned against his good shoulder heavily, trying to banish the unsteadiness from her legs. Hephastion's blood had helped her somewhat, but her reserves of strength were long since spent. The blood pulled at her skin where it dried and flaked, itching uncomfortably, but she largely ignored it for the meantime. Releasing a sigh, she wrapped her arms around him in a weak hug, resting her head on his shoulder. "Thank you," she breathed.

Holding her to him, his heart begins to beat a little harder as she leans on him. Turning to her for a moment he wants to say something, instead he lifts her into his arms, cradling her against his chest as he heads back into the town.

The wound in his arm was healing already, what ever she done had taken the worst of it away, and he was able to heal it normally.

She was warey and had used the last of her strength to help him, even though she was as tall as him, she felt like a child in his arms, he looked at her "We'll be home soon" his mind racing as he wanted to tell her again, but she didnt have the strength to deal with something like this, he would have to hold on to it for the moment.

She made no protests as he lifted her into his arms, settling against his chest with a sigh, her head bobbing like a doll's. Through heavy-lidded eyes she watched the trees rush past them as Hephastion carried her out from the woods toward town. The sky above them was already beginning to lighten with the promise of a new dawn, the stars fading away as the inky night ebbed into a navy blue. She was nearly asleep by the time Hephastion came upon her cottage, and was entirely unaware when he deposited her on her pallet, not to rise for two days.

He watched over her for the whole of the next day, but Maria had been needing his help in Paz, and matters were becoming urgent. Seeing that she was safe and had everything she needed close at hand, he looked at her, his eyes filled with regret at leaving her like this, but there was no danger to her now.

Kneeling beside her pallet he looked at his arm, the wound was all but gone, only a few silver lines which would fade in time. He leans over her and pauses for a moment, taking a deep breath he kisses her forehead softly "Rest well, and we can talk when you arrive in Paz" he whispers softly before rising slowly, he had to travel soon before sunrise or he would never get to Paz on time.
