Although anxious to get back to her studies, Nikola trooped down to the lake once more, dogs in tow. Well, if she was honest, they had her in tow. But the point was they made it to the lake. They all boarded her sailboat and glided out toward the middle of the lake, waving at some of the others who were also out fishing as she was. The dogs knew the business of fishing and had become still and quiet as they searched the water for fish. Nikola let her net down and then relaxed, letting the net and the dogs do their work. Sometime later, she rowed ashore with another four fish in tow. These she gave to Ben to take to the Town Hall for her while she stayed outside to play with Donovan and Orla for awhile. This had been fun, she decided, and made a mental note to take the two retrievers fishing more often, although she might wait until the warmer days of Spring and Summer to do it again.

Having bought the rowing boat and learned how to not fall into the water when rowing it, and then spending the past several days learning to fish, Petunia was quite keen to know whether all her efforts had resulted in anything more than smelly hands. So after her day's work was done, she went towards the town hall, hoping that the results would be announced soon.

And when she got there, she was pleased to see a new notice up on the board. Excitedly, she hurried forward, anxious to see the result.

Her face lit up into a great big smile when she read it - she had won the first prize! Thrilled, she clapped her hands and called out to the Mayor, "Thank you so much! I enjoyed the fishing, and I'm so pleased to have won!"

Nikola dropped by the Town Hall on her way to the Castle and was pleased to see that the announcements from the fishing raffle had been posted. One of Fenia City's newer citizens, recently migrated from Bravia, won first prize! She had to take a second look to realize that she had come in 2nd as well. She was happy about that, but even more thrilled for Petunia.

"Petunia, congratulation! I'm so glad you won!" she congratulated the newcomer. She gave Ella a big smile, too, and waved her thanks. "That was a lot of fun and gave us all a goal to work toward. Well done, Mayor Ella!"

Congratulations to the winners! And to the town hall for the great turnout of participants and the fish that were brought into the inventory.
