Luckily Horace ((Katie's steward)) and Carpenter Grayson's apprentice were passing by with tools when Utur had a mishap in the Apple Bobbing barrel.

They repaired the barrel, added more water and the apples before Elisa began her try again at the game.


Katie pulled out her parchment paper, refusing to look at the game players and spectators as she unfolded it. She read off the codes for yesterday's game....

Yesterday's Secret Dice Roll was as follows: 4, 5, 3.... so here is how I solved it. I randomly chose a number to pair with 4,5,3 as follows...
4 or 6 roll of the dice = Water Chomper (valued @ 0)
3 or 2 = Mushy n Rotten (valued @ 0)
5 or 1 = Juicy n Sweet (valued @ 1)

She folds up the parchment and places it between her breast and corset once again for it determines much at the end.

"Utur, thanks for playing too. Horace will be replacing the barrel with my old washtub which has an opening twice as wide as the barrel but only half as deep as the barrel. It will work better to accommodate your needs."

Utur did not seem hurt and that was what counted most.

After a couple more rotten apples and getting nothing except water, Foxeon took a break. He tried again after a study of the water's movement in the barrel.

After the previous rotten apples, Freya could only muster some halfhearted attempts today and ended up with only mouthfuls of water. Oh well, maybe that is better than rotten apples?

Elisa's hair was starting to cling onto her face, being wet from the multiple attempts catching apples. The game seemed to turn into a little competition to catch the most apples, this encouraged her to keep trying

Mal had gotten distracted eating the one sweet apple she'd managed to bob up and then realized she was meant to go again. She moved back forward and started bobbing, taking her three turns happily.

Today Tarlynn comes up to the bucket and trying not to let it best her again today, biting into the apple she gets a mouthful of mush. Spitting it out and trying again, she gets just water which was fine. Trying her last time, she again gets water which she is happy with.

One good apple sandwiched between two bad, such is life. So he continues bobbing for apples at a steady pace.
