1st Mates Log -- The Aerandir 3 May 1663

Per Captain Tuvoria's orders the Aerandir has been fully unloaded and preparations are underway to move her into dry dock. A few minor repairs and strengthening of the hull are needed. I also plan to oversee the replacing of a few hoists lines, sail lines, and the forward jib beam. Per the Captain's request we will also see to strengthening the rudder and seeing if we can make it easier to turn.I have also contacted Calembur the woodsmith and armorer about the 'special' items the Captain wishes to add. Calembur plans to meet with me at the drydocks in 4 days to go over things and provide a true assessment to what he will need. Most of the crew has informed me that plan to stay in Paz for the next few weeks enjoying a holiday, so to speak, and will be ready at a moments notice. Things look good as we prepare to make a few upgrades to go hunting.

She hadnt realized she was tired until she looked upon their town Bravia, as they made their way towards it. Yes, lets. She said simply to her husband. Her cheeks were slightly flushed and she felt like she could sleep for a week and not even blink. She glanced at him as he guided the cart home.

There was much she wanted to do when they arrived, but the first thing would be a little nap. I think once we get home, Id like to take a short nap. I want to sort through a lot of the items we brought home as I have many vegetables that I will want to get to my market stall at my bakery. I just think that the trip has finally caught up with me. She smiled. Its so good to be home. She said, and she genuinely felt the same.

I hear you my love. I could use a good rest myself. Tuv lead the wagon on towards the outskirts of town and down Strawberry Lane. As they rounded the corner and headed up the path to their house, Tuv's steward and ranch manager, Jack was there to meet them.
Welcome home Master Tuvoria and Lady Wyllow. Let me take the cart and the animals. You two walk on up to the house. I'll take care of the animals and get things unloaded. The hearth is lit and a fresh pot of rabbit stew is awaiting you.
Tuv thanked him, helped Wyl down out of the wagon, turned the lead reigns over to Jack and escorted Wyl to the house. When he got to the door, he stepped in front of Wyl, opened the door, picked her up, and carried her over the threshold.
You have come back to me from the land of the lost, and I feel as though we have just started our second honeymoon. So I'm going to carry you into our home.

She smiled as they were greeted. Even Gabriel was there, though he stood back from most of them. Oh, Jack, thank you. You are a gem. She added. There was no way she would feel up to cooking this evening. She smiled as she was helped down. She signaled Gabriel forwards to take certain things to the shop, with quick direction, as usual, the lad complied quickly, always eager to help. As they strode up the walk, she was surprised by Tuvoria suddenly.

She let out a yelp, that swiftly turned into a laugh as she was lifted and carried into the house. Oh my word, you.. you .. she was at a loss for words, but she appreciated every single feeling that rushed into her heart. She smiled then and clung to him. It was sweet of him.

Tuv carried Wyl to their bed and gently set her down. I don't know about you, but I could use a good long nap. I know Jack and Gabriel have things under control. After a nap, I might go out for a walk just to smell the fresh grass and trees. Tuv then went to the other side of the bed, took off his boots, and laid down in the bed. The next thing he knew it was morning....

1st Mate's Log -- The Aerandir -- 4 May 1663
We have moved the Aerandir from her berth at the piers to her appointed slot in the dry dock shipyards. Shortly after we had the ship settled in drydock, Calembur arrived. The two of us boarded the ship and I showed him around with the drawings and information that
Captain Tuvoria had left. Calembur was highly impressed with the design of the Aerandir and what Captain Tuvoria had in plan. We looked at the areas of concern and he took several measurements and soundings of the decks in question. He made a few notes and stated he would start work next week, giving us time to do some of the work we had already scheduled. I thanked him and escorted him back to the main platform. Work then began on fixing some of the areas needing new pitch and paint.

As Tuv reflected upon the voyage of The Aerandir and the work of the crew, a few things came to his mind. Most of these centered upon their encounter with the ships flying the Red Claw banner. He knew if they encountered them again, a battle may ensue. Things had to be ready. Tuv knew that part of that was already in place with the upgrades, yet he knew the crew needed training as well. As such he sat down and penned a letter to be posted to Jim in Paz.
Greetings Jim,

I fully believe you have things well under control on the repairs and upgrades to The Aerandir as she sits in dry dock in Paz. I fully trust that you will do what needs to be done to ensure she remains in best condition. She needs to be in fighting condition. I feel that may be a slight weakness with the crew. When the upgrades are done, I encourage you to call the crew back and to take The Aerandir out and run a few targeting drills. I feel we should also run the crew through some basic combat training to deal with repelling boards, boarding other vessels, and combat on a ship, Our plan all along was to build up a naval force. As such I feel this is sadly needed. Wyl and myself are also upping our skills. We also plan to head up inland north of Widu to scout and and see if we can find any intelin regard to the Red Claws. If you need to get in touch, contact the Temple, they will know how to reach me.

Your friend and Captain

Tuvoria Ralathondor
Tuv then sealed the letter and handed it to Jack to post it to Paz. Once done with that he headed out to see if Wyl was free. She hadn't really seen any combat activity for a good deal and he wanted to see if she wanted to train with him to be ready for when they planned to leave and scout out things north of Widu.

Jim received Tuv's letter with a bit of a chuckle. He was thinking along the same lines. guess great minds think alike,he mumbled to himself. The exterior work on the hull was nearing completion. The workers would soon be working on the helm's wheel and the rudder assembly as well as replacing some of the rigging lines. He was quite happy with how the crew was doing. He would head out later to visit a few weapons masters to see about getting some basic training done for the crew. In the meantime, he headed up to the main deck to see how the work was coming along to put in the securing platforms for the new ship defense systems that the Captain had wanted. He thought to himself The Aerandir may be a wanderer, but she shall soon be one with a wee bit of a mighty sting for those of a sour ilk.

Tuv woke up early and headed out to the barn. Jack was already there. Together the got the wagon loaded and the horses and pack animals hitched to it. Even though he and Wyllow had just gotten home a few days ago, they both felt they needed to head north. Unanswered questions regarding the Red Claws had to be answered. They were going under the guise of a trade run hitting towns not accessible by the sea. Once the wagon was ready, Jack headed off to check the fields and Tuv headed back to the main house. He prepared some tea and breakfast before going to wake up Wyl.Morning beautiful, the animals and wagons are ready. Breakfast is also ready. When you are ready we can head towards Cork and the North.

Her hand reached out for him, but she knew he was already up. She stretched, then sat up. The movement set her head spinning. Getting to her feet she ran to the washroom, where she promptly wretched up little to nothing, other than bile. Sitting back on her haunches, her suspicions were being confirmed. Making her way into the kitchen, she began to bring water to a boil when another wave hit her. Again she ran to once more wretch up nearly nothing. Standing, she leaned on the wall for a moment, swiping the back of her hand across her mouth, she began to count the weeks. Nine or ten, maybe eleven. Her stomach upset at bay. The kettle whistled and she moved back to the kitchen to make some Mint tea.

Taking the cup with her, she sat at the edge of the bed waiting for the tea to cool so that she could drink it. Her mouth watered with the threat of needing to be sick again, but she continued to swallow it back. Picking up the hot cup she blew across it hopes to get it to cool faster. Taking a sip she nearly burnt her lip. Too hot still. She sighed, but lay back, pulling the covers over her. She fell instantly back to sleep.

His voice woke her and she looked up from her pillow sleepily. She smiled at him. Oh that sounds lovely... She then saw the now cooled cup of tea on her side table and then looked back up at him. My darling, come sit... she said, patting next to her on the bed. She felt a bit of nausea start and reached for the cold cup of tea, taking a very large drink of it. Setting it down. She knew she had to look pale.

Turning to him she put on her best smile. I think... she started, then stopped. I wanted to make sure.. she started again and then stopped. My love, she said taking his hand. My wish has come true. She took a breath and let it out again, tears glistening at the corners of her eyes as she looked into his. I have suspected for some time, but wanted to be sure... The Mages have blessed us. She smiled widely at him. Taking his hand, she placed it on her abdomen. She was slightly larger there, but not significantly yet. I believe I am almost through the first phase. She smiled again.. further than... she couldn't bring herself to say their first child, whom she lost. She looked down at his hand then looked in his eyes once more, her heart beating fast, watching closely for his reaction.
