A Better Bravia

Post by Datron »

Greetings to the citizens of Bravia! As the campaign gets underway for the new council term, I’d like to introduce myself and tell you about the vision that we have for A Better Bravia (ABB).

We are a group of people that believe the Viceroy exists to serve the citizens and not the other way around. We feel that the Viceroy has an obligation to provide the people and the towns with assistance wherever and whenever needed. To accomplish this, the Viceroy must have resources. The Viceroy must also be profitable, but that profit should not come directly from the pockets of our citizens unless extenuating circumstances befall us. Instead, the wealth should come from proper management of the assets within our control (the mines) and trade opportunities.

Here are some of the things that we’d like to accomplish during the next council term.

1. Bring pricing to a more reasonable level
  • a. Immediately change pricing for animals to benefit farmers. Viceroy should be able to comfortably cover all costs but not rely on animals to make a profit.

    b. Reduce the cost of stone to the town mayors so that the expense of keeping of the town walls at 100% is minimum
2. Derive maximum productivity and wealth from our mines through proper management

3. Provide assistance to get active people to Level 3 and encourage the production of state points

4. Establish and implement a defensive strategy within Bravia to protect the Viceroy and assist towns in preventing revolts
  • a. Assist mayors and town captains in establishing defensive procedures that work

    b. Provide strategies to squash revolts in progress

    c. Provide strategies to deal with market manipulation
5. Assess current Laws to make sure that they are:
  • a. Comprehensive

    b. Complete

    c. Enforceable
6. Provide better communication to the people about what’s going on in the Viceroy

I am currently the town Mentor of Paz and my wife Maria is the Mayor. We have people representing all three Bravian towns on this list and they are active players. Some have previous council experience while others, though new to council, are very smart and have wonderful ideas for making this a better place. What we all have in common is a shared vision of how to make A Better Bravia in the future.

Please feel free to use this thread to ask questions about us or our plans for the future. Thank you for the opportunity to earn your vote.

Maria brings a point of clarification to the pricing portion of the campaign message. She wants everyone to know that the min price for stone is 10 and they had every intention of dropping stone to the minimum price of 10 immediately.

But even so, she is surprised there are no questions from the people about what they want to do. She wonders if they are awake or if they just don't really have any questions.

Oh yes we noticed that after a month of begging for the price of animals to be lowered that magically the day our platform was posted the price of animals were lowered.  . As to exact prices we can see places where the cost can still be trimmed. That's all we are set to say at this time.

You wish to further limit our freedoms and restrict our lives with more laws? The current legal code is already mostly useful as a doorstop thanks to its ridiculous size.

No, we wish to revise them so that they are enforceable. The corpus is quite large now, but does it state the laws clearly and are they enforceable? Not in our opinion. That is what we want to address. When we are done you are free to take the old one if you need a doorstop though.

What specific changes would you be interested in making? So far this seems vague.

For example these sections

C. Fraud

1.Breaking a contract ~ Pending
2.Market Manipulation laws ~ Pending
3.Hiring below the county minimum wage(currently un-established)

D.Crimes against Nature

Pending.

If these are still pending three months later are they truly needed? The whole Legal corpus will be looked at from start to finish and pared down where needed. It will also be rewritten more clearly in other areas.

Very interesting, and you make an excellent point. I can easily support paring down the legal code to only that which is actually used and needed.

Our current council looks like they're more interested in accruing wealth than working to serve the people. It's time for a change.
