Looking down on the village from the top of the mountain Serena let out a tortured shriek. She has been doing so well during the first weeks..months even...that she has lived amongst humans. Air, she had needed the air, feeling it passing through her feathers...feeling the freedom, the earth so far beneath her. With another shriek she set off again and was flying before she could give it a second thought. This was who she was supposed to be, not walking on the ground with the walls so close around her.
Staring down at the earth she could see everything so clearly, that she had missed as well. Those imperfect human eyes, unable to see details she was used to see. It felt like being blind. She had been stumbling the first couple of days, not daring to come out of that little cottage in the woods. She had eaten some small pray back then but it tasted off with her human senses. After those first days she had dared to venture out and was able to get some human food. With another shriek of amusement this time she was happy she couldn't see the details of that food.
Seering through the sky took away a bit of her confusion but her mind just didn't shut up. What had pushed her to this form now she was adjusted to being human. She honestly couldn't tell why it happened just now, nothing had changed...at least..nothing..right?
In this state of mind she was unable to focus enough to turn back so she headed towards the mountain again for a little rest. Hoping to get a little peace of mind as well.
