A messenger had arrived at the castle hours earlier. Finding the king not present he delivers his letter and departs.
Greetings to the Court of his majesty King Project LVI,

We of the Bravian Council were recently informed that the king had fallen ill. We hope that he has already returned to full health by the time this message is received. Know that earnest prayers were said for his recovery.
A package containing honey, olive oil and some medicinal herbs unique to Bravia were also included.

Spikey! Seeing that Eira got his attention she ran towards him. I take it the king is well? I saw a whole crowd of people and didn't feel like fighting myself through it. What's that? She looked at the things Edward held and the note attached. Ooo.. Mind if I take these? I could do a curing corn purée, I think the king would love that. It would get him back up on his feet in no time I'm sure.

Telsa returned to the King's side as he moved back towards the Castle. Bird, her amethyst papier-mache parrot clung to her arm like a falcon ready to be launched.

Her face showed pain. She had basic bandages on where she had been badly bit during the fighting the King and her had faced. But it was not her wounds that pained her.

As she reached the King, she reached for her still missing hat but then let her non bird carrying arm fall woodenly to her side.

"Maj..." she paused, her voice strange and scratchy to her. "Majesty, I must report that in route to the castle, Bird somehow lost his grip on Aingeal and it crashed badly when it tried to recover her." She clears her throat, the shame, the breaking of her word, the utter failure tore at her heart. The fear at the possibility of loss of one who was obviously an important part of the King's life "When Bird was able to come to it tracked her to a manor. It does not know whose it is though, but it can show us...show you."

The King with Thorns note in his hand grips it more tightly, he nods to Telsa subconsciously

"I know where she is, I will go visit soon. Don't worry."

He turns to Telsa and Bird and smiles

"She must be well and alive or the note would have said otherwise, rest easy. I'm sure Bird didn't let her fall without chase. I thank both of you for escorting her from her.. the danger."

Telsa looked at the King closely, not speaking for a long moment.

She knew that he was only acting for her benefit, which made her feel worse.

With the skill of someone who knew not to show fear in battle, she shoved her emotions down inside and into box, slamming down the lid.

She took a breath and her eyes cleared...completely. Showing not a glimmer of herself within them.

"Of course, Majesty. Let us get to the castle so your wounds can be looked after." Her voice was clipped and precise.

Deep down she knew she would pay for what she did now. Just as she knew that part of the cost of her broken word is that the King shall never have the same faith in her, just as she would not have the same faith in herself and her own judgment.
