[RP] Escape from Bravia!

Post by Xavier »

This is a very touchy subject and people have trouble seperating OOC and IC. I wish to RP this and flaming, insulting and harassment of myself or others will lead to me requesting deletion of your post and if it continues reporting you. It is open for the moment but if too many people flame me without making a decent RP I will make it be made Invite only. Enjoy the RP.

Xavier had grown tired of life in Bravia. The people, the politics...everything. It sickened him. He was never a man to live in such a place. It was too...nice. He had given it a go placing himself forward for the position of Mayor and the People's Representative on the council...these both had disinterested him...however he was willing to give it a go. He did this all as a favour to Joao, one of few to treat him in a decent manner in his short time in Bravia and despite denying it...Xavier had grown fond of being Mayor of Bravia...getting to rule over the citizens was a pleasent experience. It was enjoyable...However...Bravia...was just too political for his liking...it screamed of failure and inefficiency. He hated it. You do not need several people to control the populace by shouting at one another...you need a leader..someone who would stand up and make changes happen on a whim. Xavier knew just the place to go.

Xavier packed his bags and gathered his belongings as he prepared to leave his home in Bravia. It would be a long walk to the capital of Fenia and the sooner he started the sooner he would finish. He collected his several books inscribed with writings of old and forgotten rituals of his ancestors. He had travelled through Feni on his way from his village to the north. He has passed by the capital to stock up on supplies and he could only say that it was more of a capital than Bravia ever could be.

He stepped out of the door, his bag filled with provisions and his sachel filled with his winnings. He would not say that he had left Bravia empty handed at least. He had gained something of much value. His mind thought back to the acts he had preformed over his time in Bravia and realised how the act one of his life was drawing to a close. The second act was just beginning. He took out a bag of flesh and took a bite out of it, the people as he walked by were disgusted by this but he didn't care, he wasn't coming back here anytime soon. He walked through the town and placed an ad for his field. Maybe someone in the future can use it for their own good. He moved past the Blue Djinn Wonderland and smiled at the rememberance of the party he had gone. Xavier now knew that he did not handle his drinks well...something to remember for the future.

He passed by the market which was ever so empty nowadays. Another reason why, as Mayor, found it difficult to get anything done...not to mention the planned revolts and the disagreement with taxes...the people could not accept his ways of doing things...it was fine...he did not mind...he left the town for someone better than him. He reached the Town Hall and he stopped by the doors...he looked up at the building and an evil grin appeared upon his face...

He moved into the building...an empty sachel was sitting on his desk...the one he had left there last night. His plan was happening and was getting put into motion. This would be quick and by the time anyone knew he would already be long gone. He moved over to the treasury and began piling in some money. He was going to give himself and his woman a happy and easy life. One where he could relax and never worry about things again. Even the undead had to get by on the economy set up by the living and this was the easiest way for him to acheive it. He did not care for the simpletons of the town, he did not care for the viceroyalty...he cared for only himself and his woman. The two of them would never be troubled again. He laughed to himself as he imagined the amusement of the situation, the idiocy of others and the resulting success that had appeared before him. He finshed packing his sachel filled with money and returned to his office. He reached in for a letter in his pocket. He laid it upon the table and left.

Citizens of Bravia,

It has been an honour robbing you is all I can say...because it has been a nightmare governing you. You are some of the least pleasent people I have had the displeasure of encountering minus a few special cases. On this note I inform you I am moving to Fenia. A place that will be better suited to my tastes. Enjoy your life and I hope you make the best of what you have.

regards

Xavier, Betrayer of Bravia

He had exited the town hall and was on his way out of town. It took him several minutes and after a short walk he appeared by the town exit going east to Cork and then Fenia. He walked along the main route between the two towns and along the way met up with his escort. He would not be letting his loot disappear. He looked back at Bravia and a smile filled with so much evil appeared across his face...he wondered how long it would take them to find out..

It had been a day. A day of travelling with the other travellers going the same way. It had been hours ago he stared upon the town of Bravia...it had been hours ago he had robbed it blind. It was a good day. The sun beat down on his deathly skin. It had in the recent months grown a slight deathly tint. It was natural and he had expected but it was still unsettling. He did not care but he knew others would and the fact that he knew others would whisper and speak behind is back, where is eyes could not look, only made him agitated. He expected people to be riding after him on horseback but nothing came...He wondered if they had even figured out. It was amusing.

He took a drank of blood, from one of his many vials, and decided to catch up with his fellow travllers who seemed to have gotten a few paces ahead of him...I guess his mind was drifting off. He was very close to Cork and it was in his sight. He could restock on blood and maybe get some news from the locals...but before that he would have to pass through the forest that seemed to surround the town...

30 minutes of walking later

Xavier was trecking through the forest. The twigs snapping beneath his feet and the sounds of insects and other animals filling his ears. It was different to what he usually encountered on his travels but then he usually stuck to the main road. An who had agreed to accompany him had gone on ahead as he had asked. He did not need another person to worry about when the party started. She was most likely safely resting in the capital now awaiting his arrival. they would go searching for their memories together...the memories they had both lost. The sounds of hooves above woke him from his thoughts...he could here the sounds of horses...hmm they decided to follow afterall. Well they would not get him in the town. His escort knew the tricks of the trade it would seem and he had escaped capture on the way to Cork....a fortunate addition to the current list of events.

Later that night

Xavier had entered the town of Cork...he had gotten his information and had gotten his blood from a wandering drunk...he did not kill him...he merely took enough to keep him going until Imperius...about a pint of blood. He had gotten all he needed and had found out that the council had chraged him with several crimes. Treason and public disorder among them. It was a scary thing the council when they got mad...they never make any sense and charge you with crimes that do not exsist in their law system. They truly were mad but then if he got across the border it did not matter. He and the group he was in made a few extra hours of walking before giving up for the night and were roughly halfway to Widu...the town that bordered Bravia. He was halfway to freedom. That night he slept under the stars...he would get up at sunrise to travel. By tommorow night he would be in the capital...he would be with An and he would be free from Bravia.

Xavier awoke to the sound of horses. They seemed to be galloping furiously. He kept low to the ground and looked out across the flat plains. He saw maybe seven to eight horseman charging across the fields...this was not good. By his estmations they would have caught up to him by midday. The sun was barely rising in the sky...dammit they had caught him off guard. This was not in his plans...the council must be very angry at him to chase him right up until the border...but that was it...he just had to reach the border...he had to reach Widu. He got his companions up kicking them in the legs. He began walking without waiting for them...they were travelling light and did not set up camps so the others followed behind in a matter of seconds...they jogged to catch up with him.

After that the travellers decided it was not in their best interests to get caught as they all very much wanted to reach their destination. He all agreed to it and began running. They would have to keep this pace up until Widu but thankfully it was only a quarter of a days walk away. They would be there in no time. Xavier was getting slightly anxious...event though his face led on that he was as calm as the day he was running from Bravia. He took a large swig of one of his vials of blood, which made him gag slightly...I guess alcohol really does manage to start pumping roun d the veins if you drink enough of it...my faith it was foul tasting...he would have to find another victim in Widu. For now he got one of his old vials which he had still not used up and drank from that....ah much better.

The horses were getting closer and the sounds of the men screaming after us were getting evidently more apparent. They were determined. He looked behind him and saw they would be upon them in a matter of minutes. This was not looking very good. Xavier knew they would not make it to Widu before they were cut down and aprehended by these riders. He stopped in his tracks...he turned to face them...thankfully he had clear line of sight...Xavier standing at the crest of a hill gazed down upon the horsemen. He chanted some words and brought his hand together making a clapping sound. A dark aura surrounded him as he slowly parted the hands in a horizontal motion. A line of dark energy appeared between them but even more strange was that upon the ground in front of him a gap started to appear. It grew wider and wider as xavier extened his hands till they were reaching out both ways. His chanting grew louder and the hole spread further in each direction. A chasm formed. the horseman stopped in time they looked left and right and saw it stretched on for quite awhile...but they did not see the things that were hidden in the chasm. They did not know the true danger of the spell...the chanting grew louder as he gazed upon the horseman...his hands now by his side. Then without warning from beneath the surface of the living world came first a hand...but not just one hand...many hands. The hands of the undead...they rose from the ground. The horseman had little time to react. Xavier however did not stay to watch...no matter what happened they would not reach him in time. He made a prayer to Azrael for the horsemans death thanking him for doing his work.

Later in Widu

Xavier was walking around the town...here and there with no particular place to be and with a gauruntee that the horsemen would not be following him he was in no rush now. He was gazing around the shops and walking about the streets...looking for a supplier...someone to give him their blood...someone to offer up to him more life. He looked around...he saw a man walking into an alleyway carrying some food he had obviously bought and had a sachel wrapped around his back. Xavier followed the man. He waited until no one else was around. He waited for his chance...and when it came he struck the man in the back of the head with the blunt end of his butchers knife. The man fainted almost immediately and his food fell around the pathway. Xavier picked them all up and placed them by the man. Xavier then set to work getting his nutrious breakfast he had so longing waited for. He got his knife and gently but quickly cut into the hand of the man. He collected the blood until he was full of supplies and sealed the wound back up. Xavier met up with his escort in the tavern that day who asked him where he had been and what happened to the horseman. Xavier just grinned.

Xavier was looking back at the town of Widu. It's market was not well developed but it was a welcome relief from the tormoil he had faced as mayor of Bravia. It truly was a shambles. He heard not the sounds of hooves or the sounds of angry men. What replaced it was the gentle breeze of the wind against the trees and the chirping of birds. He turned away not taking in the surroundings...they did not interest him all that much. Everything had gone according to his plan. He had gotten away from Bravia in time and had escaped capture. His planning, which he had spends weeks preparing for this day, had bore the fruit which he reeped and took off with. They set off for Imperius, the capital.

On the road

Now that he had cleared the border and was safe, he had no urgency to reach the capital. He would see An in due time who was waiting for him. He did not know why but he missed the sight of her face, he missed seeing her, he missed talking to her. He put aside such thoughts for now though...even though there was no reason to be urgent, there was still a chance of robbers on the road ready to ambush the group. He spent many hours keeping watch of his surroundings but the hours flew by.

Outside of Imperius

Xavier had gotten clear of the roads and made it into Imperius. It was an amazing place. The roads were paved all around of the finest stone. It gave the place a brighter look. He did not care for the beauty of it but the signs of wealth were everywhere. The marketplace was filled to the brim with goods and well stocked..they even had items he had never gazed upon in Bravia. He moved to the town scribe and set about getting his accomodation sorted out along with buying himself some land. By the time he was done he had gotten himself two lovely fields. On the first he grew his veggies and planned to grow them for a long time. On the second he planned to have some sheep. He had yet to buy himself sheep but he would sort that out later.

He moved through the town to the place where the scribe had mentioned and arrived at the door sometime in the late afternoon. He knocked on the door. The door opened and An was standing at the door. He gave her a small wave and smiled.

An got up that morning feeling all excited..she had felt Xav aproaching the city and knew he was safe..She looked at their house and smiled..it was a humble house with enough room for them to live. It was in a quiet street in the city where she and Xav even had a little garden. From the garden you could see the mountain peeks. She had little time preparing the house and no money at all but with some tricks like shades and cushions she made it look nice and coosy. She arranged the flowers on the table and took off to the market to get some food for the two of them. An walked through town feeling very lucky she lived here. She even recognized some people she met on her way to the market and smiled to them...no time for smalltalks now. The market was filled with good things and after finding a good bloody steak for Xav she now had to get the most difficult part..his favorite drink..An walked away from the market into a dark alley were she had met a mysterious man before..he sold her tiny little bottles with red fluid in it..Glad she could step back into the light she went home, broke but content she had everything she wanted to make the arrival of Xav a feast. At home she went into the garden to work on the herbs who were fighting the cold day. She protected them from the cold and went back in. Realising how cold it was she started the fire place and lightened the candles and was feeling a bit nervous to finally see xav again..she had missed him so much: the way he looked at her and smiled when she was around and she had missed their talks which seemed to be never ending. One thing An had missed most: the feeling she got when they were together..the feeling of being connected...just being together with a fealing of peace and pure hapiness. An thought a while about this as she stared into the flames..a perfect way to open her mind and heart. Suddenly a knock on the door...An laughed and ran to the door. As she opened it Xav stood there..just smiling and moving his hand to say hi..
She smiled and felt the light in her eyes getting brighter as she looked at him...
An stepped aside "welcome home my love.." and once he was inside she helt him for a long time just looking in his red eyes. She could feel their love and the trill of being together again. "Come Xav..you must be hungry" and she guided him to the fire place and made a meal for them with the things she had gotten earlier that day. "if you do not mind..i have something different to eat.." she grinned and she sat down next to him wanting to hear the whole story of his adventure and his evil tricks. While Xav told his story they laughed and giggled as she knew the plan by heart and was pleased to hear it all worked out like he had planned..."welcome home Xav.." An whispered as she lay in his arms
