Clenching his fists as he watches the guards slowly surround him, his head bowed as he draws on his Vitae. His eyes shining brightly he looks up suddenly "Finwe, theres only going to be one outcome here"his voice calm and level suddenly ducking as a staff swings over his head, he turns quickly launching himself into the man behind him, both of them rolling on the cobbled stones. Pushing up Hephastion drives his fist into the mans face, the sickening crunch followed by blood filling the gaps in the stones surrounding the mans head. Before he recovers another staff breaks across his shoulders, sending him sprawling in the road.

He had recalled the wolves from their 'decoy duties' a moment before, sending them on their way to watch over Wandress. Now the man slipped through the shadows unnoticed, until he came out of a dark alley close to the Blood-Drinker and his enemies.
Finwe, theres only going to be one outcome here
Sylphos winced as the head of one of the guards was crushed. Even in the most desperate times, he tried to avoid killing whenever he could. Thinking quickly, he reached into a pouch at his side, and took out a fist-sized object.

Taking the instrument to his lips, the stranger's fingers moved deftly over its various holes, a slow, calm melody composed of many sweet-sounding notes flowing through the night. He kept his eyes glued onto the group before him, hoping to catch one of the men's gazes. A guard turned to look where the music came from... Sylphos locked his eyes on his... And the soldier's head started nodding slightly as his eyes grew heavy, until he crumpled silently to the ground in a deep, deep sleep...

The guard takes her arm to lead her back to the Viceregal Castle. She turns her head to look behind her and watches as Finwe dashes off in the other direction. The guard continues to pull her away as sounds of fighting start to echo down the shadow . She twists away from the guard I can't go to the Castle. I have to know... The energy that she used to get away from the guard nearly drained her reserves, the rush of adrenaline wears off quickly as she comes upon the fight. She watches as a guard breaks a staff over Hephastion's back and steps forward go to him when a soothing melody fills the alley. Peronell leans against a crate, her thoughts calmer and they grow calmer as the music continues to echo.

As he picks himself up off the ground, a hobnailed boot drives into his back STAY DOWN!!

The pressure lessens as the music begins to play, Hephastion wonders whats going on, pushing up the mans attention is turned to Hephastion again I SAID STAY DOWN! as he pushes to the ground again, Hephastion gives off a low growl as he spins, grabbing the man by the ankle, pulling him off his feet, springing to his feet a surge of strength courses through him, as he wheels the man round, launching him into the chest of another, both men crumpling to the ground in a heap of arms and legs, standing he unclenches his fists, claws growing out of his fingers tips Hephastion looks at his hands confused for a moment Now this is interesting

Wandress could feel herself begin to flag as she pressed on, though the resounding footfalls of her pursuer followed her steadily. He would outlast her if it was left to a race, and she would have wasted all her energy in her attempt to escape, then where would she be? Spying a darkened space on her right, she made a sharp turn and ducked into the alley, pressing herself into a doorway. Her chest heaved with a mixture of exertion and fear as she peeked around the corner for the militiaman. A silhouette paused at the mouth of the alley and her breath caught, snapping her head stiffly back into the doorway. Dammit, she thought, extending her claws. If she needed to fight, she needed to spare as much of her enegy as she could; she was running in borrowed strength as it was.

A pale face flashed in front of her, and she lashed out with her claws. Four red streaks appeared as the man screeched in pain, recoiling from her. Wandress was not a fighter; her lithe frame was built for speed, not strength, and who needed such rude tools like fists if they could wield a force like the Light? She never thought she would need the razor-edged claws that tipped her hands, but then, she had never had to fight for her life like this. Metal flashed before her eyes as the man moved to strike at her with his blade, and she dropped to her knees as the sword bit into the door where her head was a moment earlier. She kicked out, her foot connecting with the man's knee. He crumpled to the ground, his blade sticking in the wood for a second before clattering to the paving stones with him. Another kick to the head made sure he wouldn't be following her anymore tonight. He wasn't seriously injured, not really, he'd just wake up with a headache and a limp.

With a long sigh she leaned heavily against the wall, relieved at a brief respite. Hephastion still nagged at her, though; he was off somewhere with more of Finwe's soldiers after him, and the gods only knew what Vampyrs could endure. All she wanted to do was slink home and curl up on her pallet to sleep away the next few days, but he was still out there, and after all, he had come back for her. Casting a glance down the alley, she straightened and cautiously made her way back towards the centre of town.

His eyes moving between the remaining Militia, the two men peeling themselves off the ground he grins as the one who stamped on his back, moves away limping. The stand off between the Militia and Hephastion was tense he stood completely still waiting on the next attack, contolling himself, he didnt want to end any more lives this evening But needs must

His thoughts broken for a moment Wandress he knew she was weak and would be needing his Vitae soon, whatever the stranger had done for her earlier had helped but the effects wouldnt be permanent, wondering where she was and if she was ok he turned for a moment, looking back down the street towards where he last saw her.

Another of the guards' eyes locked with his, and he began nodding off on his feet just like the first one. A slight movement off to the side caught Sylphos' attention. Turning slightly as he continued to play, he avoided making direct eye contact. A woman leaning against a crate, and one of the town guard beside her. Could she be the one this Finwe man was making such a fuss about?

Keeping his eyes averted from the lady, the cloaked man feigned a step in their direction. The guard reacted as he expected, raising his sword into a defensive stance and taking a tentative half step forward. That was all he needed.

In a split second, a pair of piercing blue-gray eyes locked onto the soldier's, and his eyelids started to droop. The surprisingly small clanging sound of the man's sword hitting the cobblestones at his feet hardly made it over the soothing melody, and the sound of his unconscious body sliding down the wall was lost altogether. With a satisfied half-smile, almost hidden behind his instrument, the stranger turned to look back at the gathered figures, searching for another pair of eyes to target.
