Karina once again begins channeling the thought's of the cat.

"Mistress thorn was a human woman, but she was mage-blooded.
Magick ran in her veins, but seldom did she ever use it.
She was never really trained you see. Never anyone's apprentice.
What she knew she mostly learned on her own. From gathering knowledge here into this library.
A few individuals tried to teach her some things, but for the most part she studied and read and practice and made notes all on her own.
You've had some formal training yourself, have you?
Just in case, you may borrow these books. Take one or more with you on the road perhaps, for light reading, study others here between trips?
Perhaps you can find the secret of how to beat a void spider."

Karina's eyes refocus and she takes a deeper breath then smiles reassuringly at Aida.

Aida listened carefully, her heart quickening at the mention of what was in these books and her own thoughts racing. For the first time, she might be able to get insight into what it was Auntie and the rest of the witches used to practice and how, as well as explaining her own skills as few as they were. She might even be able to make some potatoes fly without knocking any peasants out! She smiled, and then laughed at the mention of the void spider. Knowing how to kill one of those would be useful indeed, if such a secret existed. Aida looked around at the dusty books and began to wonder how many were wise to take with her on her travels.

She smiled at Karina and turned to Duke, "Thankyou, truly. Whatever made you share these with me, of all people? Not that I'm not grateful." She twisted the ring on her thumb and began to browse through some of the books on the shelves.

Whatever made you share these with me, of all people?

"You don't think yourself above being a potato.
You don't mind sharing food with other animals.
You aren't afraid to speak to King Zuan with mud on your face.

There are more, or perhaps it's only whimsey."

Karina picks the cat up and plops down into the chair behind the desk to wait.
Grandfather stands stock still looking through the dusty window at the overgrown garden beyond.

Aida smiled, and then laughed. "If I didn't speak to anyone because I had mud on my face, I think I would never get to speak to anyone at all!" She rubbed her cheeks and smiled again.

"In any case, I'm eternally grateful. I'll treasure these, I honestly mean that. Perhaps one day I'll even learn how to speak the language of cats!"

She chuckled and pulled a book of the shelves, blowing the dust off the cover and opening yellowed pages to find all kinds of interesting notes and diagrams.

Dukes ears perk up as he hears the voice from the gate and he lifts his head from Karina's lap.
-Karina looks to Aida saying "Ah good, more expected company has arrived".
Grandfather moves towards the large window on the east wall which he had been looking through, and, seeming to shimmer a moment in the sunlight, passes right through it, making his way down the the garden path back towards the front gate.

Grandfather approaches the gate, which swings open without having been touched, though still with that screechy noise of complaint that gates in need of oiling often make.

"Greetings ma'am and welcome."
Grandfathers voice is a bit hollow sounding to ones ear.
"The cat is very glad you have chosen to accept the invitation.
If you would care to follow me, I shall escort you to library."

Grandfather steps back from the gate and sideways allowing the space for Tananda to enter the grounds.

Duke meows in greeting as you enter the library. He climbs up off of Karina's lap and onto the desk itself to sit up.
Grandfather moves back to his position against the wall in front of the window.

Karina looks at you over the top of dukes head, she's smiling bemusedly and speaks to you, her accent still chipper and sharply northern.
"He's not "the" duke you know - His name is Duke. - of Earl. - Well it's one of his names anyway. - He's got three. - Dukes the one he uses for here -"

-Grandfather "pssts" Karina to remind her not to babble.

"Right, sorry, well.. Hello. Welcome to Fenia"
Karina smiles again.
I'm Karina, and don't get spooked okay?, but in a moment the cat is going to use my voice to have a conversation with you.
If you'd like some water first or sit down for a moment from traveling?
