Rancher
The Town Rancher is a citizen who is elected to the town to operate the town zoo.

Selection
The Town Rancher is appointed by the Mayor. This appointment may be governed by an election if town law requires it. The Town Rancher may only access their office while in the town that they are Rancher for. For this reason, it is important to have someone who will be able to be active as well as stay in the town. However, there is nothing to prevent a Rancher from being appointed who is outside of the town or to prevent a Rancher from leaving town.
Responsibility
The job of the Rancher is to work side by side with the mayor to ensure that Pets (and the Zoo) are maintained for the benefit of the town and its residents. The Rancher deals directly with the Zoo and setting up Pets for people to purchase. The town may also assign other duties that may not be in the office directly. This is up to each individual town to decide upon.
Pets
Inside of their office, they have the ability to do the following:
- Breed the Town Pet.
Typically, this requires 1 Feather and the food that is used to feed them.
- Feed the Town Pets
Once bred, the town pets require food to stay healthy. Failure to feed them may result in death of the pets.
- Change Price
The Ranchers set the price for the pets that they sell. The price range is between 25 and 500 Freznics.
Zoo
Town Ranchers also have the option of opening or closing the town Zoo. To be able to sell pets, the town zoo must be open and animals available. The Town Zoo costs 10 Freznics a day to operate and can affect the town's morale. Failure to have the town zoo open can result in a loss of town morale.
For all pets bought, a log entry will be done in the Rancher's office.
Town Ranchers now have the option to create an apiary to produce honey which allows them to create mead to increase town revenue. (Added in Version 3.1.016)
