Soft Limits
Soft Limits are the capacity of inventory and are managed in various ways.
What are Soft Limits?
Soft limits is a system designed to help keep balance in the game while allowing players to upgrade to increase their soft limits. Rather than having a hard cap on certain aspects of the game (personal, town, and viceregal items), there is a soft limit. This allows the particular area to go above the "limit", but with the possible risk of having items stolen at reset.
In this tutorial, we will cover mainly soft limits for individuals. Both the Town and Viceroyalty has separate tutorials for Soft Limits.
Inventory
Effective July 1st, 2013, personal inventory soft limits will be active. This includes all items in your inventory (as well as in your Equipment if you have them listed separately), but does not includes any equipped items. It is listed on the "My Inventory" screen.
All players start with 10 items as their soft limit. For each level they obtain, they will get an additional 25 items added to the soft limit.
For some players, this may not be enough. To add to your soft limit, you will need to acquire either a backpack and/or a cart. You can only equip 1 backpack at any given time. You can only equip one cart at any given time. However, you can equip both a backpack and a cart which will both increase your personal inventory soft limit. Both a cart and a backpack will show their current Health Status on the "Equipped Items" screen.
There are 3 sizes of backpacks available and they are made by Weavers.
- Small (Adds 25 Items to your Inventory Soft Limit)
- Medium (Adds 50 Items to your Inventory Soft Limit)
- Large (Adds 100 Items to your Inventory Soft Limit)
There are 2 sizes of carts available and they are made by Masons (with help from Carpenters).
- Small (Adds 250 Items to your Inventory Soft Limit)
- Larger (Adds 500 Items to your Inventory Soft Limit)
You can repair both backpacks and carts in the Traveler's Caravan.
Storage Limits
There are not currently any limits on your Storage Box. However "My Storage" may have soft limits activated in the future. This will not include any items from your Marriage Box or from your Deposit Boxes.
Specific Details will be added to the Tutorial in the future. However, the limits will be able to be increased by upgrading your Storage with work from Carpenters and Masons.
Town
Every town has a soft limit for both items and money. If a Town is above the soft limits, corruption may increase and items or money may go missing. To increase soft limits, the Mayor may upgrade Town Hall. This will also raise the expectation of the Clerical staff for pay as there will be more of them.
The soft limits are as follows:
- Level 1 (Basic Town Hall): 1000 Freznics and 200 Items
- Level 2 (Administrative Hall): 2000 Freznics and 500 Items
- (Level 3 (Clerical Hall): 5000 Freznics and 1000 Items
- Level 4 (Annex): 10000 Freznics and 2000 Items
The cost to upgrade town hall varies depending upon which level you are upgrading to, but all levels require Masons, Carpenters, and Blacksmiths to be hired as well as Pillars, Wood, Iron, and Stone available for the various jobs. To see more details, go to the Upgrade option in the Mayor's screen.
Effective June 1st, 2013, the Town Hall building will have decay added to it. Mayors can either have a member of their clerical staff (Cost: 4 stone) to repair or hire a mason (Cost: 2 stone). Hiring a Mason will be more efficient.
