A Steward is an NPC which enables players to manage certain affairs at their home so they do not have to stay in town at all times.

Buying a Steward

To buy a Steward, go to My Property > My Steward and select the [ View Steward Market ] option. This will show you all the Stewards that can be hired and the price ranges that they will accept as their initial payment.

These factors determine the wage they want:

  • Loyalty (Low, Average, High) - This will represent the Loyalty Cooefficient and help determines how long they stay
  • Charisma (Low, Average, High) - This will represent their ability to encourage better field production from those hired as well as encouraging servants to travel harder/faster
  • Honesty (Low, Average, High) - This will represent their desire to be honest. Dishonest workers may swipe a few things from time to time. *Honest workers may find something extra from time to time.
  • Workshop Experience (Low, Average, High) - This will represent their ability to assist with making workshop items

At the far right, the drop down box will contain all the possible hiring prices that you can pay for them. Select the Steward you want and the price and select "Hire".

The next screen will give you a confirmation screen of your action. If you still wish to buy one, then select "Yes" and you will now have a Steward. Otherwise, the no option will return you to the market.

What they do

A Steward can manage your affairs for you in your home town while you are away from town. This means they can:

  1. Hire for Fields for you when you are not in town
  2. Put goods up for sale to the home town market
  3. Buy goods for storage box
  4. Transfer money from your home town deposit box to your storage box (Auto-Transfers occur at Midday and Morning reset)
  5. Send a Messenger with money from your storage box to head to where you are (Both Robable)
  6. Send a Messenger with items from your storage box to head to where you are (Both Robable)
  7. Auto-feed your animal fields
  8. Auto-feed your Pets from your storage box

All of these options may be managed via My Property > My Steward

Treatment of A Steward

How you treat your Steward will affect how long they stay in service to you. The loyalty coefficient that your Steward originally comes with will help to determine how they view your actions.

All Stewards should be paid. From this money, they will purchase special items to eat for their own use.

If a Steward becomes unhappy enough, they will leave your home. In some cases, they may take items and/or money when they do never to be seen again. You can always view the mood of your Steward on the My Steward screen.

In addition, you may also select whether you wish to reward your Steward with extra pay or punish them. Both actions can affect their mood and their service to you.

Paying A Steward

You can edit the weekly wage by going to My Property > My Steward and select what their pay will be. All Stewards are automatically paid on Fridays if their pay is greater than 0. The pay will come from your inventory if you are in town. If you are not in town, the pay will come from your storage box.

If there is not enough to cover the wage, the wage will not be paid.

You may also choose to dismiss a Steward. If you do so, they may steal from you. In addition, if you have items on the market that they put up for you, they may steal these as well.

Loyalty

The loyalty of a Steward can be affected by their wage. However, it's effects can only reach a maximum loyalty of 7 under this case. Extra pay for a Steward can extend this loyalty past 7. Another way to possibly increase loyalty is to punish your Steward. This may affect their mood (either negatively or sometimes even positively).
